Metaphor: ReFantazio and Persona director Katsura Hashino keeps his distance from user feedback to spare his mental health

Good on him. I think it would be very easy to get too involved with a feedback loop for a person in his position. It's wise of him to prioritize his mental health too. Considering he doesn't even like making public appearances, I can see how being talked about (him and/or his work) by tonnes of people online would make him uncomfortable.

He only has time to do dungeons during the day and talk to his friends at night. He has no time to look at social media. As you know every day draws closer to a new King being crowned.

because constantly looking at reactions isn’t good for your mental health.

I don't know why more people wouldn't do this. If I was creating stuff, I wouldn't read shit on what people online have to say. Half the time it looks like the opinions are by people who haven't even played the game. And I feel gamers generally have terrible ideas on how to make games and don't understand development at all.

Hell, as a Metaphor player, avoiding player feedback is good for mental health. Something about this game has brought out some major nitpicking. Maybe from mainly PC players? No hate on PC, but these folks are some especially picky mofos.

Off topic but I’m playing Metaphor right now and loving it. I’m seeing Persona 5 Royal on sale on PSN for $24. For people who’ve played both, which game is better?
Very tough to say. P5 is a masterpiece. I may end up enjoying Metaphor more, although that could just be bias due to not playing P5 since 2017. I'd say if you enjoy one, you probably enjoy the other.
