That... wasn't the best send-off. Two very disjointed, separate parts - a bog-standard montage/attract clips and then the Metal Gear scene.

Also why is 1980s Metal Gear as advanced as something from Revengeance?

It isn't really disjointed. The first half was showing the previous games and their Metal Gears and the second half was teasing this game and revealing its own Metal Gear. So the whole thing is actually about the Metal Gears of the series.

Shows the progression of Big Boss, we all know how he is vanquished by Solid Snake in MG2. One of those faces looks remarkably similar to the "Big Boss camo" in MGS4, which was supposed to represent Big Boss's corpse.

Great trailer though. Kojima did a great job making it feel like not just his last trailer for MGS, but the last "real" MGS trailer altogether.

Yep this isn't the case, it simply doesn't make sense. No yeah I know plenty about the series doesn't make sense to many but most of it works within its own internal logic. Big Boss is not Skullface.

Also, I don't see how the seemingly huge spoiler can be "real". It doesn't make any sense. Sure, it has a lot of more metaphysical interpretations that could be true, but it's not as clear-cut as people are making it.
