Michael Jackson has contracted an MRSA-type skin infection during plastic surgery to reconstruct his nose, it has emerged.

The 50-year-old singer is allegedly receiving medical treatment at a top Beverly Hills clinic to try and beat the superbug, which is said to have spread throughout his body.

The claim is the latest health scare surrounding Jackson, who denied reports in December that he was suffering from a potentially fatal lung disease.

Speculation grew after the frail star was seen being pushed in a wheelchair.

Jackson was recently pictured on his way to the clinic for treatment wearing his usual dark sunglasses and surgical mask.

Witnesses said the skin on his hands and face appeared ‘visibly inflamed’ with red and purple blotches and he was said to have a badly swollen cheek.

According to The Sun, experts warned the severe ‘staph’ infection could develop into a flesh-eating disorder that could eat away at Jackson’s skin and leave him in need of major surgery.

‘The disease is an MRSA-style infection because it is resistant to conventional antibiotics, so he has been visiting a clinic to get antibiotics via an IV drip,’ a source told the newspaper.

‘The infection has spread throughout his face and body and is being aggressively treated by doctors.

‘There’s a chance it could turn into a flesh-eating disorder where it begins to kill off his skin so he’s being very carefully monitored,’ the source added.

US plastic surgeon Dr Anthony Youn, who has not treated Jackson, is quoted saying the possible infection could have been contracted during his nasal reconstruction surgery.

Jackson’s spokesman was unavailable for comment last night.

In December, biographer Ian Halperin claimed that Jackson was dying from a rare lung disease, but the story was dismissed by the star’s publicist as ‘total fabrication.’

You take a risk of nosocomial infection every time you step into the hospital, so yeah. He's taken that risk quite a few times.
 
That photo is from 2 weeks ago. So some media outlet picks it up late and makes a story. I hope its true. Put Michael out of his misery. I can only imagine the psychological harm he's done himself over the years.

I blame the father :|
 
My mom had this once. She had an abscess that got infected. They cut like a softball sized portion of rotting flesh out of her calf. It was pretty nasty. A coworker of mine died from this last year as well, although it was mostly a complication of his cancer treatment anyway. Seems like this hits people who are already sick more than it does people who are healthy.

Same thing happened to my Dad. He had an operation on his neck, contracted MRSA and then ended up with a 3"-wide hole in his neck for about 4-5 months

It took me a few moments to figure out what this was trying to say. My first thought was "WTF emerged? His nose?"
 
His hand is blotched because of vitiligo.

I heard the common visits to the dermatologist is because of a repigmentation therapy or he is preparing his face for a comeback.
 
In some ways, I can't wait for this guy to die so all the weird stories can finally come out. No, I don't think he's a pedo, but I'm sure tonnes of interesting t stuff will come out.
 
I still don't understand what lupus is. Just that it's a disease.

And to those saying they hope MJ dies, that's kind of fucked up. I'm no fan, but still.

It's a chronic auto-immune disease that attacks connective tissue. Basically your immune system starts to attack your own body. It's pretty nasty. My mother has scleroderma, which is a far far far far worse, but similar disease.
 
To think that black Jacko was all the lady's love back in the day. The sad part is that he did all this to himself. The man had it all, the world in his palm. :( PEACE.

Although I do think he had vitaligo or whatever it's called with the blotchy whiteness.
