Although it was admittedly biased, the show was pretty damn good. Alongside the main talking points (pimping the new books, joking about the Republicans, going out to vote and all that), there were three guests: Roseanne Barr (of which I yelled out "YOU FUCKING ROCKED IN ELM STREET 6"), Tom Morello, and Sgt. Abdul Henderson.

Now that I've gotten the summary out of the way (whee), it should be noted that Moore shamelessly pimped his products so fucking much it was borderline embarassing...including his upcoming film about the medical industry (call 1-212-753-1226 to get the "MICHAEL MOORE IS HERE" hotline for Pfizer)...

Roseanne sucked, reading off of the paper almost the whole time.

Tom put out "Union Man," "House on Fire," and some song off of the Fah 9/11 companion CD with his acoustic, a harmonica, and the podium mic (as none of the others worked)...

...and Abdul pounded home the points that really stuck.

All in all, it was just a rally to rally the believers, but damn if it wasn't a good time.

Vote! Don't let Ohio be red! *frothing at mouth*

*dies*

and goddamnit, don't turn this into a flamefest. this is only for my impression of a live performance here

I don't think it will turn into a flamefest - the thread about Moore at FSU turned into a discussion on local dining locations in Tallahassee.

yeah, that was fun. Guthries rocks.

I caught his show at Utah Valley State College last Wednesday. Roseanne showed up with him, supposedly just for that show, since she's a Utah native. There was a ton of controversy leading up to the show, since the college is in the center of the most Mormon county in the country. People made death threats and impeachment petitions against the student government for booking Moore, donors threatened to cut funding (at least a few of whom did), and there was generally a ton of crying and moaning. The show had a large share of non-stop heckling, but the majority of the audience was favorable toward Moore. Moore played off the booing and yelling pretty well, including near the end when a pro-Nader group took out a sign and had it pulled down.

I thought the show was pretty entertaining, even if it was a blatant Democratic party-line cheer rally. It was nice to be in the same building with so many other people who actually agree with me in this backwards state. :p

I think that's part of her routine. She did it exactly the same way here, and I figured that the 'reading,' the poor delivery, and the obviously-dumb statements (thick with irony) went along together as an act. I could be wrong, though...

Sounds cool. We just got confirmation that Michael Moore's gonna be at UC (Cincinnati) this Wednesday afternoon. It's gonna be interesting; Cincinnati's like Conservative Capitol. It'll probably turn into a circus... if I have anything to do with it. :)

Time to contact local news media...
