African American men are disproportionately affected by HIV. Especially MSM. But the root cause of this is a long list of socioeconomic problems, and some unknown factors that researchers can only guess about. Casting the blame on women trying to get pregnant is also reductionist.
I think it has to be approached as a social problem with public health consequences. Education and awareness are the key to prevention. Treating it after the fact means it's already too late.

This is completely untrue. My good friend is HIV positive and has a loving committed boyfriend. It is true that they are gay and cannot have kids, unless they adopt, but they live a very happy and normal life together and one just happens to be HIV positive.
