This is connected to that epic case.
FTC wants to protect kids from those purchases.
So all your praise for MS is over getting Diablo and CoD on gamepass? That international company is providing me with a "cheap" option for my entertainment and that's why I want this deal to go through. I don't give a shit about how Microsoft is doing financially or in any other part of the company besides gaming.
And nope, Microsoft owning Activision Blizzard wouldn't create that scenario.
10 years is a long time. There is as much reason to think they would continue with a similar deal beyond that as there is to think they won't. Its hypothetical. But for 10 years, which will cover the next gen the deals would result in more availability. This is not hypothetical but is conditional with respect to the acquisition.
I really hate platforms right now. I needed to buy Diablo 4 on PS5 because the pc version doesn't have couch coop. Now I have a fucking year of psn extra so I can play it and it has many of the same games that are on gamepass. It's just waste I pay for redundant hardware to play exclusives and redundant services for online and countless controllers. It's a lot of waste that gamers have to pay. At least MS let's me play on my pc.

Need a new narrative
Currently MS and ATK are both operating and making money in the UK, but somehow, if they aren't allowed to merge and are forced to remain separate like they have always been, it will magically cause the utter and complete destruction of the UK.Under pressure, closed for business, government intervention, UK economy will crumble without ABk

It must be some sort of magic curse, but, so far, none of the shills have managed to explain this curse.
You still haven't explained how stopping the merger will destroy and damage the UK.Activision shareholders are open to an acquisition. The size of Activision limits the pool of potential bidders to a relative handful of conglomerates. The arguments made by the CMA against Microsoft set a precedent which could be extended to many of these acquirers. Only a small portion of Activision's workforce is based in the UK. The number is 200-500 out of a global workforce of 15,000 or so. Activision has the option of eliminating or relocating those jobs to a different country to remove itself from the jurisdiction of the CMA. The move would remove some regulatory risk for future mergers. The option is extreme but there is logic behind it.
Activision will still make lots of money in the UK. Activision just won't make anything in the UK. Activision would sell its products through a UK-based distributor the same way that Nintendo uses Maxsoft to sell its games in markets outside of the US/EU/JP. Microsoft's operations would not be impacted at all. Microsoft wouldn't use the same strategy. Microsoft employees too many people in the UK to relocate easily. Microsoft also operates datacenters in the UK which can't be dragged to another country.
An American writing commentary on British regulation in a British publication and it's the only column he's ever had for cityam. Definitely not sus.
Likely final not a Single time they reversed One.The CMA decision is final correct?
I don't think the CMA will come out tomorrow and announce that they reversed their decision. I know some are hoping for that but I don't believe the process works this way. The CAT would have to send it back to them first if any changes are to be made.
You still haven't explained how stopping the merger will destroy and damage the UK.
Even if you assume you're right and ABK does something like this, you said yourself that ABK only has 200-500 employees in the UK.A public company considering relocating jobs due to a hostile regulatory environment isn't exactly going to galavanize investment in the "Singapore of Europe".
More importantly, if the CMA reverses the decision now, after Microsoft's pressure tactics and PR campaign against them, it will look very, very bad for both CMA and Microsoft. The CMA decision is final correct?

If it is not going to be a hit for ABK/MS to leave ~500 employees behind (out of 15,000), how will it be a hit for the entire UK market that has millions of workers?
Who knows what will happenI haven't been following this for a while because it was getting tedious, but do you guys still think this isn't going through? Knowing CMA is already being questioned and Microsoft is investigating to not operate ABK in the UK.

They can't.... It's part of the mandatory copy-paste script!
It's way more likely to be blocked now than ever before. But since Microsoft has filed an appeal, it's still not 100% finalized yet. Things will get clearer significantly after July 18.I haven't been following this for a while because it was getting tedious, but do you guys still think this isn't going through?
This is a Twitter narrative, really far away from reality and truth as of now.Knowing CMA is already being questioned and Microsoft is investigating to not operate ABK in the UK.

$180 > $70How dare CMA block poor MS attempt on buying Activision. The CMA is against poor struggling companies. Look at how all these good games will benefit gullible UK gamers in to paying 180$ a year,
Who are you, and what sorcery is this?$180 > $70

Kinda hard to take you seriously when you're linking the transcript of a speech instead of the regulator's guidance itself.

Speaking at the British Chambers of Commerce annual conference on Wednesday, Mr Hunt said: “When it comes to Microsoft, there was a merger between two American companies that the US regulator is seeking to block, and the UK regulator took the same view.
