You would think so, but at the end of the day she brings eyeballs - free advertising. If the merger failed and PlayStation signed a new deal for CoD I imagine a few of her supports would change sides if she was advertising the new deal, and I suspect given her position she probably has lots of opposite contacts that might consider investing in Sony shares on her say so.

I think Sony would just be happy the deal was blocked, and on the off chance she was really a diehard for the xbox cause would probably be getting offered a job by Microsoft to leave of her own volition anyway.
MS aint hiring her, for what?
Sony would prolly sit out the next round of contract negotiations with actvi and continue to focus on their 1st party. Cant imagine sony comes out of this if its a block and say lets get back in bed with bobby. This was a lesson for them and certainly their strat with 3rd party relationships would have changed.

It's just business pretty sure Sony realizes Activision shareholders just want what's best for their investment.

Have we seen any non officers or stock option VP's saying "YAY, we want to work for MS"?
Those are the people Sony is dealing with, they don't sign sales contracts with the CEO and shareholders.

Guys. I don't know what's going on but when I was scrolling through my Google Calendar, I saw something that made me do a double take.

Florian Mueller Bday.

I swear I wasn't the one who keyed this in my phone. I did search his birth year because he behaves like a man-child and I just wanted to see how old he is. So how the fuck would his birthday be saved in my Google Calendar?

I dont see sony cozying up to them again, sony operate different, for them it's full steam ahead doing their own shit, if acti wants to come along for the ride, ok, but i dont see Sony going out they way to accommodate acti after the bullshit they had to deal wit..
Sure their games will be on every platform but they can kiss Sony marketing dollars goodbye.

Who's Activision going to shop their marketing dollars out to now? Their owners?

These third parties rely on those dollars, and MS has been cutting way back on marketing budgets. They will not get the same budget boosts that shopping out marketing provided.
I don't think COD needs a huge marketing presence. Just getting out the release date since it sells itself like the newest iphone. Other games well not like they release much outside COD these days except the occasional gaas like overvwatch or diablo. You really think Microsoft is cheaping out on anything for a game that generates nearly 2 billion a year.

It’s not about the game tho, its about executives trying to eliminate marketing expenses so they can take more of the profit home.
If sony dont compete for marketing the game neither will ms, no point their biggest competitor is not bidding. That leave Bobby with a marketing bill in the tens of millions per game or hundreds of million over a generation he and his shareholders don't want.
And they will have to market cod because EA and Ubi will sure as hell be marketing their comp shooters, marketing thats prolly gonna be picked up by the likes of Sony and MS.

She was good enough to get such a senior post at ATVI, so I assume she could probably get something at a similar income at Xbox, assuming her unpaid opinion is one of being neutral to PlayStation and Xbox, or pro-xbox.

Sony will still welcome CoD marketing back because of the shared objective of financial growth for PlayStation and ATVI.

I agree - in the event the deal fails - that PlayStation will still be looking to reduce their reliance on CoD to potentially be this vulnerable, again but blanking CoD would be very silly, because that is exactly the type of invitation an Amazon, Apple, etc would potentially take up if PlayStation and Xbox left it on the table.

Nobody cares about this anymore huh?

Looking like the EU may re-enter the chat.
EU gonna grow some balls now?

Not likely. They'll just "re-evaluate" and approve it again. Another round of bribes for the EU from MS.

Interesting, but not holding my breath. EU loves to be reactionary after the fact with minor tweaks here and there to be passed off as wins for the consumer, rather than protecting the consumer from the very beginning.

"Europe's antitrust regulator won't require Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) to re-notify the authority about its planned $69 billion acquisition of Activision (NASDAQ:ATVI) after its new remedy to the UK antitrust regulator.

Two third parties have received inquiries from the European Commission about the remedy proposal and have no issues with it and have submitted feedback saying so, according to a Dealreporter item on Wednesday, which cited familiar sources.

Microsoft (MSFT) and Activision (ATVI) hope that the EC will tell them as soon as next week that the transaction will not need a new filing with the regulator, according to the report."

Well, I for one am shocked that the EU took time out of their busy schedule of doing nothing to do nothing here!
