Microsoft E3 2014 predictions

Since we are getting close with E3 being next month i thought i'd make a thread of e3 predictions for Microsoft. What are you guys expecting in terms of games and also features and surprises? I expect a huge show for Microsoft and multiple exclusives. I think we will see some new ips and at least one older franchise returning maybe from Rare. I also expect Rare to reveal a new game for the "core".Maybe Conker or Perfect Dark. What do you guys expect?

Probably showing gameplay demos for a lot of the games we already know about (Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Halo 2).

A lot of games, some solid exclusive games, but the basic policies will remain (Kinect, no price drop, paywalls, etc.) so no matter how good the games are I won't reconsider my decision not to buy the Xbox One

I believe we'll see Halo 2 Anniversary and a Halo 5 tease. Forza Horizon 2...
We'll see more Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, etc. There will probably be a COD demo.
I'm thinking we might see Crackdown 3 too.

As always, I'm hoping to see a Banjo-Kazooie game in development, but that is rare.

I expect a boat load of games and for them to have a really good show like last year. I don't expect to see much TV or Kinect just because of the toxicity surrounding it unless they start teasing Rare's next thing already.

Halo 2 HD
Quantum Break
Sunset Overdrive
Forza Horizon 2
Project Nagano
Games with Gold for Xbox One
Price cut to $400
CoD: Advanced Warfare gameplay demo
Absolutely nothing to justify the Kinect's existence

Price drop, but not an enough of one for me personally, or to catch PS4.

Price drops to 399$ with Kinect, no game pack in.

My price is 349$ with Kinect and a game like Forza packed in to get me to bite, and imo get near PS4.

Its going to be too little too late, imo.

Halo 2 Anniversary+War collection
Forza Horizon 2
Sunset Overdrive
Quantum Break
D4
COD Advanced Warfare
Halo 5
Phantom Dust 2
Project Nagano
Crackdown 3
End with Banjo Threeie and price cut announcement

Price drop, they have shown they are willing to take drastic measures to be competitive. A 50 or even 100 dollar price drop is nowhere near as drastic of a move as doing the 180 on many of their "ideas".

Call of Duty: AW will be shown on their conference, since they have the marketing deal with Activision.

I really hope that everything Phil Spencer has said about their recognising this E3 to be a make-or-break moment for Xbone is true and that they're planning big changes to the brand. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see the XBLG paywall significantly revised, or a significant price cut with a new SKU.

Conversely, I'm also incredibly wary, because MS haven't had a truly great E3 showing since...I can't even remember when.

So I would say I'm maybe 40/60 balanced between optimism that MS realised how far they dun goofed and are keen to do something about it, and cynicism that the rumbles of change we've heard are all for show and that beneath the surface it's the same dreadful vision that was unveiled last year.

Price drop

Although I'm not going to buy Xbox One anytime soon, I'm looking forward to see how Quantum Break and that Insomniac game look and play.

Other than that, there will probably be:

CoD: AW Demo
The Witcher 3 Trailer/Demo (not sure)
Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain Trailer

Not sure about the rest.

Another Halo 5 Trailer, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo TV show, Gears tease, QB trailer, Sunset Overdrive trailer and date, Fable Legends, Crackdown tease, Forza Horizon One, some Japanese exclusive games.

Official price drop.

Double down on Kinect.

Fake cheering.

They will have a better game lineup than both Nintendo and Sony.

They will be upstaged by something not game related.

Halo 2 Anni (maybe Halo 5 beta bundled in?)
Forza Horizon 2
Gameplay of Sunset Overdrive/Quantam Break
Kinect mostly ignored
3rd party stuff similar to last year (Battlefield/Witcher)

Crackdown 3 announcement
Indie Announcements (similar to Below) from their ID program.
Gears CG trailer

Open the show with either Advanced Warfare or Sunset Overdrive live gameplay. Both will be demoed live in the conference though.

-A really brief 360 presentation

-ID@Xbox presentation.

-Quantum Break

-Fable Legends

-Forza Horizon 2

-App update on what's coming to Xbox One

-Halo 2 Anniversary blowout

-Halo 5 teaser to close the show

This is kind of my expected show so far. Nothing too ground breaking but mainly game focused. There should be some surprises in there as well.

-Quantum Break Gameplay

-Sunset Overdrive Gameplay

-Halo 2 Anniversary Announcement/Gameplay

-Forza Horizon 2 Announcement/Gameplay

-Fable Legends Gameplay

-4 or 5 new (or revived) IP announcements with gameplay footage... half of them will be released this year while the other half will be released during the first half of 2015; a decent number may end up being platformers.

-Halo 5 teaser

-Crackdown 3 teaser

-New Xbox One SKU: $500 for 1 TB; current 500 GB model goes to $350.

-Announcement: No more popular media apps behind the paywall

-ID@Xbox showcase with FRU demo for kinect

-Call of Duty: Advanced Warfighter demo

I basically want to see something new.

Halo 2 Anniversary and Forza Horizon 2 will be nice, I'm sure, but it's an iteration of "after 2010" approach to Xbox. What I hope is that instead we get an expansion of early "Xbox One" Xbox, but with much higher quality.

I really liked their initial gaming approach with the Xbox One: New IPs with Ryse, Max and Lococycle, funding development of old but loved ones like Dead Rising 3 and Crimson Dragon, and funding something cool and new like Super Timer Force.

My problem with it was that, well, it kinda sucked. Ryse was awful and Max a pretty big disappointment in game design, while Dead Rising 3 didn't keep my interest at all and was mostly a dud in my book -- same thing with Crimson Dragon. I haven't played Lococycle, but it's fairly safe to assume it's awful, I think.

Overall, I think they have the right approach, we just need quality now. And a regression towards "here's more Gears/Halo/Forza/Fable, thanks for coming" is the opposite of what I want.

In that sense, what I want are MORE announcements of stuff like a new Insomniac IP or Remedy's game (and these two hopefully will deliver in quality), and less threading of familiar waters -- and I think they understand that. We'll see the familiar faces, sure, but I don't think they will completely overtake the focus of everything else.

Probably

Halo 5 gameplay
H2A later this year
Horizon 2 later this year
CoD gameplay
Sunset Overdrive trailer
EA Sports shit
TV stuff

Maybe

Gears 4 CG trailer
Fable 4
New Rare game

The platinum game (Nagano)
Halo 2 Anniversary Reveal (with Halo 5 beta-access)
Sunset Overdrive blow-out and release date
Quantum Break blow-out and release date
+Third Party Stuff

Posting my predictions and bookmarking them as i did with Sony's.

MICROSOFT
Together with Nintendo they're the ones who have to prove the most. XB1 isn't doing badly by itself, but by june the ratio for PS4 might even be 2:1. They'll annunce a price cut but not a Kinect-less SKU because they're developing AR and games for it. Thank to Phil they'll go straight for the core audience, sadly i think they'll still use the 3rd party exclusive games/contents tactic more than their 1st party games. I'm no expert of their IP's so i'll stay pretty generic.

XBOX 360 ---> (price cut, more and better games with gold, some 3rd party games and 1st party casual titles)
XBOX ONE PRICE CUT ---> (most optimist is 399, otherwise 449, no Kinect-less SKU)
XBL ---> (putting Gold membership more on par with ps+, free games like Ryse, Forza 5 and DR3)
MORE MULTIMEDIA CONTENT ---> (you really thought TVTVTVTVTVSPORTS was over eh?)
KINECT-EXCLUSIVE GAMES ---> (something for the casual masses)
AR DEMONSTRATION ---> (works with kinect, ends up disappointing, just a response to Sony's VR)
HALO TV SERIES TRAILER
HALO 5 demo ---> (pushed to spring 2015 to get more polish, 1080p/60fps,)
GEARS OF WAR teaser ---> (seems to be still pretty early in developement, surely a 2015 release)
FABLE LEGENDS demo ---> (has to prove it's more than a casual game, late 2014)
SUNSET OVERDRIVE demo ---> (fall 2014)
QUANTUM BREAK demo---> (first real gameplay demo, early 2015, first TV adaptation trailer)
NEW LIONHEAD'S IP IP trailer---> (i don't know if they have a 2nd studio, but maybe a new Kinect-based IP)
RARE NEW IP trailer ---> (maybe something more than a casual game, maybe Banjo 3)
MS JAPAN 1ST PARTY GAME teaser ---> (a cinematic jrpg to appeal the western players, just a teaser, more at tgs)
FORZA HORIZON 2 demo ---> (i don't know car games so there it is)
KILLER INSINCT ---> (new characters and modes, maybe a complete retail edition)
D4 trailer ---> (don't really know much about it, japanese launch game)
METAL GEAR RISING 2 trailer ---> (developed by Platinum, kojipro giving them exclusivity in exchange of ps4-only MGO beta; 2015)
DRAGON AGE INQUISITION trailer ---> (exclusive content?)
MASS EFFECT demo ---> (exclusive content, no timed exclusive after Titanfall and loss of potential PS4 buyers, Spring 2015)
CALL OF DUTY ADVANCED WARFIGHT demo ---> (usual exclusive content)
THE WITCHER 3 demo ---> (first real gameplay footage, everyone cry from it's epicness, please please god no exclusive shit of any sort)
TOMB RAIDER 2 trailer ---> (next-gen only, exclusive content, first half of 2015)
JUST CAUSE 3 trailer---> (we know they've been working on it for quite a bit and there is the registered domain)
FALLOUT 4 demo ---> (live demo, developed with id tech, timed-exclusive dlc like Fallout 3, Spring 2015)
ULTRA STREET FIGHTER IV trailer ---> (also for PS4, KI crossover, Fall 2014)
DINO CRISIS REBOOT trailer ---> (next gen reboot, single/multy-player, Spring/Summer 2015, exclusive content or maybe even exclusive a-la DR3)
DEVIL'S THIRD demo ---> (MS publishing now, big XBO japanese launch game)
MAD MAX demo ---> (we still need a proper showing for the game)
LORDS OF THE FALLEN trailer ---> (showing off exploration and various builds, still targetting late 2014 but i can see it delayed to 2015)
DARK SOULS II trailer ---> (enhanced graphics on par with pc or better; full or timed XBO exclusive to counter Project Beast exclusivity, out in Late 2014/Early 2015)
EVOLVE demo ---> (maybe a new mode or new monster, release date announced)
-ONE LAST THING-
HALO 2 HD demo ---> (played segment of some famous H2 scene; one of this fall big releases as 5 gets pushed to 2015, 1080p/60fps)

Gonna start with CoD, end with Halo and a little Gears of War in the middle

If they do this then it just goes to show they haven't learnt much over the past few years. Sure they can show those 3 titles but they really need to pass the torch to some other franchises. Of course having Gears running on the new hardware will excite a lot of people but I am so sick of the same formula.

I imagine they will showcase at least 2 Kinect titles to help push the higher cost associated to the hardware. This will be their last ditch effort to win over the non-casual gamer. If that doesn't work then they might as well just scrap the whole thing.

I expect a full show of games with maybe something new to show like a VR headset or that illumination thing we saw before. What I want to see is more production from Rare and something from Lionhead that isn't Fable. I would also like to see either Forza Horizon 2 or a new PGR game. Plus at least 2 new IP's we haven't seen. We may even see an official price drop as well and that includes the XBox 360.
