I loved zellers. The one by my house was the perfect amount of ghetto. Would walk in and not tell if its even open yet. The lighting was always a mess, kinda dim and seemed like they knew. People would clown the restaurant. Not me, some childhood eats went down there. Its a shame it died the way it did. But maybe thats for the best now.
I worked there when as a kid doing night shift stock. Their issue was really poor stock control. We’d have too much of one thing, not enough of another....really really poor. Walmart, otoh, were stock nazis and that is how they started winning in US. When they came to Canada, it was a bloodbath.
It was a fun job though, lots of crazies worked nights.
