STANDINGS UPDATE FOR SEPTEMBER 13
I wish relegation existed in MLB.
I wish relegation existed in MLB.
How in the hell would you get the equivalent revenue that a major league team gets from a AAA team/stadium?
Obviously some details would have to be worked out. I just wish that when a team disgraces the sport of baseball to the degree that the Dodgers have done over the past few weeks, they could play a year in AAA as punishment.
That the Brewers have pushed their record over .500 and into the wild-card picture will help Braun's chances of actually winning this award, but from my perspective, his slow last week, was just enough to let Posey surge past him for the lead in this race. Braun had just one extra-base hit in seven games and dropped his slugging percentage below .600.
I'd bet at least one-third of this year's MVP voters don't give him even a top-10 vote. And that will be that. And you know what? If that happens, it won't just be the ban-'em-all-for-life crowd that cheers. So will people who work in this sport. Some of them.

Stark is such a gutless fucking coward.
Well shit, what else do you want him to do? Beat up Ryan Braun?
He's very obviously trying to rally people to not vote for Braun, suggesting that it will be totally ok and common to not even put him on the ballot. But he couches it as "hey, I'm just reporting here." If the guy had a spine he'd come out and say "I will not vote for him and you shouldn't either." Instead he cowers behind anonymous sources and made up stats.
So the Pirates, despite all their recent stumbling, are granted a reprieve by the baseball gods: a 4-game series against the Cubs.
It's go-time for the Pirates. They have to win 3 out of 4 here.
Yep. I really really want them to have a winning season.

As a Braves fan, I would love to see the Pirates be Wild Card #2 if only because Kris Medlen could probably throw a complete game in 90 pitches against their offense.
You know who you DON'T wanna see? The Phillies. And I'm feeling it. You are too. It's comin'.
Braves are 10-5 against the Phillies this season. Bring them on.

Make no mistake: you would lose that game. Book it.
How?

Posey comes back from a brutal injury and is putting up crazy numbers for a catcher who plays almost every game or a guy who won MVP last season but still has ROIDS hanging over his head. Its not a surprise why people would go the Posey route.
Not at all, and it's a close race I could definitely see Posey winning it. ESPN actively lobbying for people to not put Braun on the top 10 is my issue.

Braun got off on a technicality. Nobody believes he wasn't juicing except Brewers fans. Is it that hard to believe that some people would like to see him punished for juicing, and that some of those people are sportswriters?
Face it, the guy deserves to be blackballed for a few years.

This is hilariously idiotic.
This is the posting of a grocery aisle sports fan.
Really? So Mac, Bonds, Sosa, Clemens etc. are going to make it in on their first ballot? It's the same deal.
