So with my random escapades to hotels for work and what not I was always disappointed with my own bedding at home as it has been the cause for injuries and terrible nights sleeps, and being a male (enter stereotype now) it's not something we'd really put to the top of our list. I just never have never been that comfortable on my bed after experiencing nice hotels
So I was laying on my half broken ikea bed and got fed up when another wooden slate broke and decided to put a bit of cash down on some fine bedding after doing some research:
-13.5 Tog 100% Goose Duvet Down
-310 thread count Egyptian Cotton Duvet Cover, Pillowcase and Flat Bedsheet (wanted a bedspread, but a little too much right now)
-4 100% Goose pillows
I didn't get those from Ikea, but from a specialist Egyptian cotton dealer. I decided to get a cheaper Ikea mattress which weirdly was a lot nicer than some of the softer foam and more expensive Ikea mattresses and teamed this up with some new wooden slates. Mind you I am 16 stones/225 lbs (mostly muscle, not fat), I don't know how long they will last, but with a thicker mattress hopefully I won't have any issues
Hopefully this will lead to a much better sleep and less damn injuries. And of course the issue of sex has always been a problem on my bed since the mattress isn't that thick and the wooden slates are kinda uncomfortable for whoever is on their back, so hopefully that should change things
How's your bedding, or are you just sleeping on an old towel in a garage with a wall adorned by Satoru Iwata?
