As if GAF wasn't getting bad enough, the thought of having threads locked when a poster who is also a mod gets into a discussion, then you can flush the board down the toilet.

Amirox (IMO) is a good poster - he's in every thread - but if every thread where a slip up or a disagreement comes up gets locked then ... whats the point?

Most threads have gone to sh1t anyways, but... hell...

Having a very vocal poster (one i have no problems with) as a Mod sounds like an absolute recipe for disaster.

The only reason that thread was locked because it was two pages of absolutely nothing relating to the topic at hand anymore, not because I disagreed. After you derail it to a certain point, you gotta just give up on it, ya know? However, since I helped derail it (and wrongly so), I don't mind. The topic was getting silly, is all.

Nothing to do with being vocal really, though.

how many threads on gaf remain on topic? It's not many.

I didn't think that thread had gone too far.
We started on about NPD sales, when it was locked, despite the specifics we were talking about Sales prediction.

That's actually a step forward from talking about an X360 game , then ending up discussing MGS4 or the Revolution controller...

Regarding demo'd - it's nothing to do with me - my days on GAF are limited anyways so what i say means nothing.
What i would say is you make a lot of possitive contribution to the board - but is it possible to be as active as a poster and be a mod at the same time?

anyways, just my 2c. As mentioned i have no problems with you as a poster.

From context, I don't think the mod in question was the one arguing.

I think at the point it's like, at least that's about games. We were to the section where we were literally interpreting users comments through semantics for endless posts. I contributed to it wrongly, I admit, but at some point you gotta cut your losses.

I am still new to this, though. I haven't exactly got into the flow of when things are appropriate all the time, I just felt that it was a good time to lock such a wildly off course thread. It's important to note that it wasn't because I disagreed though. I could have argued forever, but because I AM so vocal sometimes I can be part of the problem.
