Mods so good they warrant another playthrough

I've been a big fan since the beginning of 2025 of going to my backlog and completing games. Part of that is enticing to me, because there are some great texture and lighting mods that make the games more visually enjoyable. I'd love some good recommend. Some of my favorites:

Arma 3 deserves to be installed just to mod the shit out of it. (It's the game that created DayZ and PUBG after all)

Arma 3 Anti Stasi (and it's variants)
Arma 3 RHS
Ace
Innumerous new maps, content missions, etc.

Brutal Doom

Anomaly (Stalker)

Skyrim full module Community shader with any PBR textures,(CS lights, DIAL Windows ultimate, grass shadows, collision, terrain shadows, etc) Gameplay mods like Legacy of the Dragonborn, etc.

Fallout New London...

MechWarrior: Living Legends
It's a total conversion mod for Crysis. I never played Crysis but many 100s of hours of this (multiplayer) mod. It won Mod of the Year at ModDB. You don't even need to purchase Crysis anymore, it has an all-in1 installer that uses the demo now.

Actually good high res texture packs.

But i'm not sure if i would ever replay a game just to try a mod tbh.

Currently playing HL2 VR

The new perspective makes it more immersive than ever. I also didn't play Alyx yet, so this feels like a proper VR experience to me.

I've seen good impressions so far and it has a long road ahead, but once it's done I'm finally going to double dip for PC.

Bloodborne's movement, weapons, dodges, and gun parries have always been my favorite out of all Fromsoft games.

This one is great fun, doubles the enemy spawn numbers in Resident Evil 4 (and also rearranges some item placement and other things to make it feel like a fresh playthrough).

I'd recommend it for a second run through once you've unlocked a few things so you'll have enough firepower to battle the hordes, this mod really ups the action!

Only doubling enemy spawn? Because looking the screenshot...damn. I have to play it some day!

Berserker and Valkyrie mods are my picks. Adds unexplored areas and new encounters. Feels like a proper NG+ mode IMO.

Example

Project Diablo 2, its worked on consecutively still, has a lot of actual endgame content(maps, bosses, new bosses vs d2/d2r), reworked/added skill trees and new skills, few hundred of new or changed unique items, including class/spec specific items for endgame, and new boss tier items, it has amazing loot filter and much better stash with stackable gems/consumable, whole new "slam mechanic" which encourages endgame farming for duplicate unique items, yellow items can have really high crazy op stats so its worth picking some of them up(again proper amazing lootfilter so we never experience d4 situation), increased smartly inventory where u got lower half of it for charms, but upper half for cube/picking up drops/tele and identify books etc, it has livid community- already 12 seasons.

It basically feels like og blizzard kept working on diablo2(it does have graphic upgrade vs og d2:lod but obviously is still relatively classic looking/far worse from d2r).

For any diablo fanatic who despises new d4 approach with its mtx push and close to 0 fun in endgame(and i say it as a guy who pre-ordered d4 myself and spent roughly 150h in it early on then tried to come back to it 2 separate times only to realise how terrible it is for any1 else except casuals who only wanna beat story) its perfect diablo game.

Here current season(12) trailer:

From small but sweet things- game announces worldwide if u were to beat particular endgame boss for ur first time(including tier1/2 bosses aka harder difficulty), reach 99 lvl, or in case of hardcore mode(aka perma death) who died to which mob and at which lvl too- great for morale and to laugh at those "nolife losers" who were higher lvl than u but fked up and died :messenger_tears_of_joy:
