Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Thread

Taking on the 5* Dual Gypceros. :D Already beat that quest about a week ago, just wanted to try it with a GS, since I'm currently trying to improve my GS skills.

Tha last two videos doesnt looks as good as the first one... there is no more an HQ toogle so the quality stays bad...

Maybe is because the recompression to fix the aspect ratio? dont know really

Do you record using remotejoy or using the video out cable? If its the first, what program do you use to capture the window?
 
My friend and I finally got around to using Adhoc Party to do some HR3 guild quests, and it worked beautifully. We hadn't passworded the room, so we had people just dropping in to join. We had an HR1 guy tagging along, and then an HR9 guy joined and helped us to blow through the quests we needed to level up to HR4. It almost felt like cheating, but getting the Shen Gaoren quest over with so easily was a relief.

Yeah I always enters and looks for random "houses".

Its incredible how nice the players are... not like most online players, there is no noob calling, or that stuff that happens on others players, and when I start to try others weapons, other people help you telling what a good skills/armor is for that weapon. So nice :D

I don't use a program to capture from Remotejoy. I use Remotejoy's built in recording option then convert to DivX with VirtualDub.

Ah ok, didnt know it has a record option... anyway I dont use it a lot.


For those who are interested, todays Monster Hunter Update, added the grannys special items... raw meat, flashbugs, kelbihorns, shocktraps, maybe another items that i didnt noticed. So if you want that, go to your nearest download store :lol the cats will help you in your visit
 
what exactly do I have to do to unlock fatalis? already beated ukanlos but its not there...I can download the quest but then I cant unlock crimson fatalis...

I hope its not a lot :lol
 
Well that was a productive session. Beat the 7* Urgent (and it was HARD), got my Mining Point +3, and finally got my Onslaught Hammer! :D

And now that the Obituary S set is available, I think that's my next target. Just need more Poison Sacs and Rare Scarabs.

its the same for others items... sometimes they appear sometimes no... just do a quest and check again...

Also Im trying to do all quests, but I need one more for HR3. It says cleared!!! in red but i did like 10 quests and I cant see more quests... any place where I can see a list?

Diablos weakness is ice, not water, try with a raw sword if you dont have a good Ice sword. Also, demondrugs last for as long as you dont die, so bringing more than 2 is overkill (of course unless you die), also demondrugs dont stack with mega demondrugs, so just bring one of those.

Try cutting the tail first, then attack him on the head, you could try flashbombing and sonicbombing him, when flashed, it mostly will stand there just taking a breath, so do two long vertical swings at the head, roll and repeat, you will break the horns fast.
 
Man, I did the Felyne Elder Purple Gypceros quest today.

It started me off in Area 8 (Swamp), Purple Gypceros on one side, a Bulldrome on the other.

It wasn't pretty. :lol

Ceanataur Gunner set, a good Heavy Bowgun, and lots of Pierce 1/2/3/materials to make more 3 will get you far.

Also, use the Dragonator.

I'm telling ya, that Diablos is Fxcking hard. It took me over 10 tries just to beat him. Forgot which LS I used, either blangonga destsomething(ice) or hidden saber. When I did beat him, I brought all 15 flash bombs and 10 sonic bombs. My cat even landed a paralyze on him. I caught him with 8mins left, didn't die any in that round.

I'm using the bow now to mess around in the HR5 quests. Thought I could get the last mining spot, guess I can't yet. I feel that bows are really gimped in this game. The damage output is really low compared to LS even when charging and that takes a while. Using rapid shot I have to stand near the mob or else my arrows won't reach them. And charging the bow kills my stamina, hell even regular shot takes stamina, so stupid. Really don't want to bring powerjuice along but I guess I have to. So I'm trading defense and damage for......5 extra feet away from the mob. Really, this game has it backwards. You're supposed to trade defense for more offense, yet it's not the case here.

I fought HR4 urgent Lao with the bow, shot his back near his shoulders, couldn't even repel him. Killed him with 5mins to spare with LS.

Your biggest chance is the Silver/Gold dual G quest in the arena. You will have to fight both at the same time, but I got them semi regularly there. Including carves I once got 2 hvnly (1 ian, 1 los), and 4 rubies in one go.

Yeah I do a mix of both ian and los at arena and los alone, and didnt got one... in like 15 runs? dont remember... im just so unlucky (see my posts with nargacuga :lol )

Instead I got like 4 hvnly from rathian (and of course farmed less becuase only killed him on the dual quest), but I dont need them :S
 
Yay, finally defeated Tiggy! Honestly that wasn't so bad, probably didn't even take me 10 goes. Had more trouble with my first Kut-Ku in MH1 :lol.
Looks like Rathalos still holds the title of "my biggest obstacle", for now.
 
Wow, so I just solo'd my way from HR4 to HR5. Every other time I've HR'd up, it's been in multiplayer with a friend. So I'm just kinda blown away that I did this one solo. :D

Also, got my Obituary S set and my Black Katana Mk. III. Good stuff. :D

congrads. I've mostly soloed to go up in HR so I know the feeling. Tough stuff.

Congrats for solo them.

Im trying to solo all my low rank quests... the HR's 1-5 was no problem, but HR6 daaaamn, currently having a hard time with duals rathian @ arena, and dual diablos, the things doesnt go down... they have a lot of hp :lol Also dual kirin, WTF what frustrating quest it is... It remembers to dual plesi from nekoths >_<

Also good armor orbituary S, you can try to get hidden blade from narga, its a good sword with 50 affinity :P
 
Finally!

Just did the Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian; Fire Ring, Lunar Ring quest twice and got 3 rathalos rubys, did it during my lunch break with Onslaught Hammer and some flash bombs, took me no time at all.

Now I have upgraded to Gun Chariot GL and finished of my Rathalos Soul armor set, will try get another and upgrade my Blue Wing GS into Shiny Rathalos Sword, good times.

Next stop Akantor with my lovely new gunlance.

I think most of us say that for every new monster we fight. I don't think I've tried him yet to be honest. I have it available though.

You guys got to try the 2 Diablos event quest next year in MH3, its fucking insane. Its a new online event quest in the japan version. First time ever my character become a ping pong ball in the game:lol

Just take your time, learn his habits, and conserve you're stamina which you will need for the constant dodge rolling.

He is a complete asshole, but it makes it all the more sweeter when you take him down.
 
Okay, I haven't been able to find any definitive answer for this, so maybe someone can help. I am using ceanataur armor, and I want to add Sharpness +1. What gem do I need to aim for? I see the Razor Jewel, but nothing else. I seem to recall reading that i 'll need Monoblos Hearts for the Sharpness +1, which I don't have any of yet, so is that why I'm not seeing it?

There is a +4 sharpness jewel called cuttter jewel, but it needs 3 slots. Also you need garuga wings, lapislazulijewel, gravios brain stem and black blos tail. If you are with low level quests, then dont bother, you need high level materials to do it, thats why you dont see it at the crafter.

If you want better sharpness, then you should aim for better weapons at this time.

+10 artisan points -> sharpness+1 skill, which increases weapon sharpness
+10 sharpness points -> sharp sword skill, which prolongs weapon sharpness

there're 2 ways to make an artisan jewel, one way requires monoblos hearts and one way that doesn't. i always go for the way that doesn't... but may require parts from 2 monsters rather than 1, but are easier to get.

Thanks. I have sharp sword already with the ceanataur set, so I wanted sharpness+1 to go with it.
