Monster Hunter Wilds Free Update: "Our Commitment to Improving Stability and Performance"

Posting an optimisation roadmap... almost a year after launch. Lol.

At least they're working on it, they no doubt have an expansion coming soon so fixing the game before that will be a priority.

So no new monsters as a title update but performance improvements.
I can't wait for the expansion cause the current roster is quite barren

Last "new" monster is Gogmazios and he's released the 16th December.

February IS coming with (and ending with) Arch-Tempered Arkveld.

Wait, the game didn't have LODs? No surprise modern games performance sucks. Also, I wonder how many console games that people and DF blame on the CPU are actually bottlenecked by poor memory management.

Nah, its too late, game is dead to me, ll wait for "Rise2" to get back to this franchise.

Also, i would put some hours in a MHW SW2 edition as long It has 60fps.

It's unfortunate you won't be able to craft them as regular weapons but they'll be the new artian so it'll probably take tons of grinding for all 14. Then again, what is Monster Hunter without something to grind for.

So I paid for an early access version right papis?
I am throwing everything at it papito, give me gogmazios and it's power creep gear right this instant

I havent touch it yet, because crazy works, is it buggy on console as well? I'm planned to play on PS
On base ps5 is ranges from "this looks good" to "this looks like a fucking train wreck."

I have the same experience on PC but it looks much better overall, but the image on the screen by no means justifies the resource usage.

For the record I'm HR140 on PC and HR102 on PS5.

Nothing speaks commitment to stability and performance those aspects of your game are treated as a joke the entire year they are released and negatively impact sales and reviews.

It's only commitment because their laziness didn't pay off!

Working hard on these optimization to launch it on Switch 2 and sell some more millions in Japan.

"Oh shit, you mean to tell me THEY NOTICED we shipped a game with obvious shit poor optimization and they're calling us out for it?!?"

Part of me hopes these optimizations don't fix the absolute wall this game's sales ran into. I love the game overall but it has serious design and technical flaws and Capcom needs to use this as a wake up call that this is not the path they should go down. For the next "MHW" game they need to forget this one ever happened and build directly off World / Rise.

I won't be back to Monster Hunter until they come up with some new weapons at a minimum. I've played this game like 250+ hours multiple times with the same weapons. I have other things to play.

I'll consider Wilds when it's like $15.

I've noticed something about long awaited updates that come out console (ps5 pro) because I can't speak for PC since I don't own one for gaming and that is that they never fix or improve the graphics and performance in any significant way.

It's fucking miserable really. We wait months in hopes they'll fix the glaring issues, the patch comes out, I check it out with my fingers crossed and see the same ugly shit before me. Every time.

Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill F and MGS3 Delta? Thanks for nothing Konami they look like ass on the Pro with the botched upscaling.

Oblivion Remastered- just as broken and ugly as on day 1.

Hitman 3 with its broken HDR on console? Never fixed.

Dragons Dogma 2, Avatar, MH Wilds, Stalker 2 all look like shit on my Pro duw to one or more issues that stick out like a sore thumb....patches came and went with no fixes.

Elden Ring- framerate fixed on PC but not console.

Basically, the only chance to get real improvements is if youre on PC. These devs are never willing to put in the work on console, but since PCs potentially have more raw horsepower you may get some fixes. I guarantee it will be the same with MH Wilds.

Embarrassing

We knew full well that Monster Hunter Wilds was a technical disaster waiting to happen

Capcom dumped it on us anyway, pretending everything was fine

This "optimization roadmap" is just more drip-fed patches after 10 months of crashes, stutters, and unplayable frame rates; it's bound to be another shitshow

Say what you want, but this clearly isn't a passion project; it's a product they shoved out the door because the fiscal year was ending and the shareholders were getting impatien

That should of been an internal memo to staff a year before the game came out. Not an advertisement of fixes 12 months after the release.

Do you remember when they were supposed to give a CEDEC 2025 talk about Monster Hunter Wilds "optimization," and it got canceled after threats?
And that newly promoted producer who insisted the game was already as polished as it could ever be? Guess the sales chart finally spoke louder than their confidence.

> Release it now, it'll be fine!
> Damn! It's not selling as we expected!
> Okay, maybe we should fix it now.
> Shit! there are over 100 issues that need fixing.

It's a title update with a whole bunch of new content. Here they are clearly just highlighting a specific thing that people have been complaining about.
Ahh then i sincerely apologize for criticizing their awful tactics and inability to deliver a game in an acceptable state.
I am sure the AI generated content they will so happily give out for free, will be fantastic.

It's like trying to be a Final Fantasy weapon.

Thanks guys, i saw the roadmap and assumed the worst.
I know title updates are normally new monsters so my assumption was premature.
