If this does happen i really hope they keep the co op mode.

I can't recall it that well but didn't they remove it from the Halo 2 pc port? (Never played the first Halo pc port so i don't know if they kept it in that either)

well ms did say a while ago they want to llink xbox and pc together. if u buy a game through the marketplace on xbox they want you to lay it on pc too.

it also goes with the whole windows 8 xbox bit where u can remote play your games but no keyboard support yet but option is there

I wish Microsoft had given up and gone the Steam route years ago. So many games could have been better without GFWL :(

On the plus side, I'm sure plenty of Japanese games wouldn't have come to PC if it wasn't for GFWL, the Steamworks Japanese documentation apparently sucks and GFWL was/is more trusted over there.

I don't know. Halo 1 felt so wrong on the PC. It was like playing Unreal Tournament on consoles. It just didn't feel right.

Halo 2 felt like shit on PC (at least it didn't feel like a PC game), but Halo 1 PC took on a life of its own. It had its own unique community, maps and feel that was unlike any other Halo game, even Halo CE on Xbox. I hope that happens with Halo 3.

It's never too late to play the best Halo all gen and one of the best all-round titles all gen IMO. Somebody just pray its Steamworks.

I've always wondered if Halo was a great console shooter or a great shooter in its own right. I guess now we will find out.

I'd buy it for around £15 ish, sure.

I imagine this will be one of the launch titles for the relaunch of GFWL as "Xbox Games" (or whatever the online gaming service is going to be called on the next Xbox console).
We are long overdue for a new focus on Windows gaming from Microsoft. It used to happen every few years before they completely lost interest. They will no doubt try again now to entice PC gamers into buying the new Xbox by getting them into their Xbox ecosystem.

The difference this time is that instead of trying to be a complete competitor to Steam I could see "Xbox Games" be complimentary to Steamworks with extra features like buy once play everywhere, cross platform game saves between Windows, Xbox console and WP and what new hot social features is Microsoft is planning for the Xbox console.

Just don't make it the primary DRM solution causing us to experience the pain of the save corruption, the terrible overlay, downloading profiles for 5 minutes and terrible p2p multiplayer of GFWL all over again.

I would love Reach even more

And imagine if they add split-screen functionality, just like in the old Serious Sam games - mother of gooood

If it's for Windows 7 I'm up for chance to play it properly (sorry but for FPS I always like K&M if possible) but if its Windows 8 only then it's Halo 2 all over again and they can forgetaboutit.

Not a "major" one, but I'd love to see Fable 2 on Pc. I felt dirty after I finished 3 last week, my god what a godawful piece of crap.

I didn't mind Fable 2, even though I found it to be inferior to The Lost Chapters. Fable: TLC > Fable 2 >>> Fable 3, as far as I'm concerned.

yep thats why from software used GFWL with dark souls

Man, I would really dig Halo 3 on PC.

There's no way AMD could troll us by putting 'halo3.exe' in the driver without it being legit, right?

Next driver... 'hl3.exe' ... 'MGS4.exe' ?

Besides Gears of War, are there any other major 360-exclusive IPs that aren't owned by Microsoft?

...Dance Central?

I would love Reach even more

The newest Serious Sam game also supports it.

Way too few PC games support local multiplayer, while it makes so much sense with the multitude of games that support controllers and the larger focus on connecting PCs to your TV.

Wait what? On Steam?
Search doesn't bring anything up and I haven't seen any news articles about it either.

Devolver gave out keys the other week, so the game is practically done, but it hasn't been publicly released just yet.

I wonder if Halo: CE will become Halo: CEA. Sabre3D is a multi-platform engine, so much of the heavy lifting is already out of the way, plus the game has a toggle to switch between the classic and updated graphics.

Holy shit. I've been hoping for a Halo release on Steam, but had never thought about that! I'd love to replay the game (I own the PC version, but I'm waiting for the possible Steam version to have native widescreen support and possible AA compatibility), but to get the Anniversary looks would be a fantastic addition!

I'd rebuy them all on PC just for the single player campaigns but I'd love it so much if they gave out server files/had dedicated servers for the games. That's probably wishful thinking on my part but I've never loved a Halo game online as much as 2 and would love to see that return in a big way. How did the original PC port of 1 handle multi ?

Oh well, I can dream.

Better yet, release both!

Hate this GIF. But I've never been so happy to see it lol

Seems to me they might well be stirring up for some kind of "Halo 3 HD" for the next Xbox and it just makes sense to release it across more platforms given the new system is likely to be even more like a PC than generations passed.

That sounds a bit superfluous, since I'm pretty sure the Anniversary version of Halo is just the original game with a "current-gen particle effects, higher-polycount, and more detailed textures" mode you can switch on and off at will during gameplay. Maybe there are more differences when it comes to the multiplayer mode?

Unless you mean it'd be better from a pricing standpoint, since the Anniversary edition would probably mean the regular edition would be much cheaper in comparison.

I'm not a big Halo fan but I'll get this eventually if it comes to Steam.

Hope it isn't Windows 8 exclusive. Don't fuck this Microsoft.

Practically unnecessary, sure, but good my game count. :p

Halo 3 needs to be realeased including ODST.

I need those games. I've played them for hours and hours, and I want to experience them again in all their glory.

Halo 3 downsampled is going to look mindblowingly good.
