Uh, so you're telling me that EGM, GamePro, Nintendo Power, and GI are more reliable, review wise, than Famitsu? No.

I understand it's cool to hate things that are generally liked around here, but give it a rest.

Back in 2001, Xenogears was the greatest thing since sliced bread. That was because the game was a tough one to find. Now that it is Greatest Hits, its only appeal (and what suckered me in) is now gone. Xenogears and Brave Fencer Musashi both were unimpressive almost worthless games overpromoted because of their rarity. FF Tactics was this way too but lived up to the post-release hype more than these other two.

.. Brave Fencer is awesome. I bought it for the FFVIII demo back in the day, and ended up loving BFM more than that piece of shit FF.

KILLER 7 MAKE ME FEEL GOOD. THE TITLE SCREEN AND LOADING SCREEN BRING HAPPY JOY TO ALL. 9/10

Aside from a very short and disappointing 2nd disc, the game IS incredible. The story and battle system are top notch and it's just fun to play. It also has one of the best soundtracks ever. I understand it's kewl for some people to hate things that are generally loved, and it's really fine to not like it. But I'm fine being in the majority of RPG fans that love it.

Are you implying that I don't legitimately feel this way, and am just expressing my dislike because of some random 'need' to be "kewl"? Are you fucking daft?

I don't think he was implying that.

If I were him, I would be implying that the reviews from EGM, GamePro, NP, GI and Famitsu are equally worthless.

please put your confidence in Famitsu!

The more of you that get burned now, the better!

then you can all regroup and learn from the $50 burnination that you'll suffer.
I'm sure one or two of you will like it - roughly the same percentage that like sandpapering testicles...

I won't be blamin' Famitsu if I get burned, it'd be all Bebpo. Famitsu is trash. Bebpo is awesome!

<3 Bebpo

oh, indeed - Bebpo _is_ awesome. But i think his taste is a little different to most peoples, and therefore, i advise caution. That's taking nothing away from Bebpo - some people will love Killer 7, but i expect those cases to be very very few (personally).

It's always a danger gushing over a game that's so crazily different, and i expect it to be too much (too little?) for most tastes.

This is one of those times where it really does pay to be a "rent boy".

Thanks for the compliments, I think most of you are awesome too ^_^

Anyhow, I agree that I have strange taste when it comes to non-rpg games. Duckroll always tells me that he takes my advice when I'm talking about rpgs, but completely ignores me when I'm talking about other genres ^^; For instance, I liked Gungrave (another game that was simple in play mechanics [chaining combos was good enough IMO] but heavy on style), yet most don't.

The game is good. As long as you're not expecting Killer 7 to be something that it's not, you should enjoy the game as much as I am. The shooting really is a blast (especially later when it gets tough and you have to be super fast), exploring is fun in spite of the A button movement, the plot is crazy and interesting enough to push you forward, and the style is totally weird and unique in a way that should grab anyone's interest. I'm not advocating the game because it's a wonderful art piece (it's weird as hell, but it's not artistically touching like ICO)--I'm saying it's good because the entire package is quality that's worth playing. And being worth playing is a lot more than being worth $50.

^Fuck you and your rationalism =p

That doesn't work here at GAF.

Having said that I'm enjoying Killer 7 much more than PN03. Which seems to be a popular game people compare it with.

Again...

MIKAMI.AM.CRY :lol

oh shit, i just realized this game comes out next week

and so does halo2 map pack

hmm...screw renting, i'll just buy it at the $10 price drop :lol

Woah!

I shit you not, but today I just met someone who had worked on that game. He said it was a "crap game and a crap company."

hmm..will IGN give the BOMBA stamp to Killer 7 too?

Killer 7 Review

When are you dudes going to review killer 7?

Matt responds: Pretty soon. We'll have the review up for you well before the game ships so don't worry. I'm handling it. Should be an interesting one since half of our office is split over the title: some like it just fine and others act as though the game killed their dogs and must therefore be punished to the full extend of the law.

wow, the gamepro review says the game isnt even worth renting. bold words

"Killer 7 is certainly offbeat, but it's on the lonely side of mediocre, and even a rental will ultimately feel like wasted money."

I loved Killer7, especially the last half of the game. Some of the boss battles are so unique that they are memorable. I don't know why it get so much hate...
