Why does the official cover have the XY (xboxyde) logo chopped off in the lower right hand corner?

Um... because the Xboxyde text is the same color as the plastic?

It's not if you look closely, it's there...just blends in with the green.

It's not chopped off...you can see that its there. The colors are too similar though.

My guess is that they are running a php script that pastes their watermark onto all of the images before displaying them or something similar to that (I've never been to the site so I'm just guessing). It obviously needs to be tweaked for these boxarts.

Can't wait to see what kind of weather effects they have in the game. The developers mentioned that in a interview.

It's not chopped off. The green from the logo blended in with the green on the box.

To play this game in 16:9, 720P, 5.1 Dolby surround sound on XBOX Live...man hate to bring back an old quote but " throw away your ______ it's all over "

No, see the video when the yellow car takes a curv is very obvious that the rims are in motion

LOL, let me rephrase that. The geometry of the rims is flat when in motion. Notice how the boxart has 3D rims yet the pics and the video show they they still have to resort to flat rims.....OMG Quatum Leap!

This will be the first racing game I've bought since Scorcher on the Saturn (Crazy Taxi DC doesn't really count).

So. Fucking. Sold.

Well, replay shots are post-processed, so I can't guage how good it will look in-game without the blurring etc.
well. don't the replays always look better than the in game graphics? because of dynamic camera sweeps, and you start noticing details that you didn't as you raced. notice, that's why racing game screens are usually introduced by replay shots. they look more stylish, cinematic, and show off the cars better. what would be the point of releasing an in-car view...looking at the road ahead?

Stylish camera positions some how double the graphics quality?

These shots look like shit.

Also, they are not supporting 480i so people with normal television sets can't play.
:lol

Hey Mr Bungie, seriously though give those boys at Bizarre a call and tell em we won't accept another 30fps PGR. :) This game needs a true force feedback wheel also.

its not chopped, you just can't see the rest of it easily cause it blends in with the green box.

OH YEA BABY!!!!!!!!!

360 continues to DAZZLE. This is.. it's... uh.... drool, spittle, lose it, faint.

SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I HAVE TO HAVE

PGR 3
GR
Kameo
Gears of War
PDZ
Madden
NBA 2k6

Wow, best launch ever. Nothing has ever been even close. :)

I'm guessing that the USB 2.0 ports GUARANTEE a force feedback wheel, and if I was making a driving game, I would support any existing popular FF wheel.

Speaking of which, what's the best current PC one?

No doubt except the DFP has a big fat GT Logo on it and knowing MS I wouldnt doubt they would neglect it for that reason alone.

Why is everyone going apeshit over the PGR3 pics? I am more impressed with all the Test Drive media and especialy the Test Drive engine sound.

They now have drivers for the DFP and I would say its your best bet and should go for around $100 US on the internet.

Probably because PGR has a better track record over the past 5 years in comparison to Test Drive. I think more people are going apeshit because of the *game*, not just the screens.

"Speaking of, what is stoping Bizzare from sneaking in drivers for the Logitech DFP?"

Well if Longhorn uses the same controllers as 360, it's a safe bet that 360 is gonna use PC controllers designed for longhorn... PC wheels would probably fit in that category

Gears Of War isn't a launchtitle. Planned for Q2 2006.

Ok, now THIS is what i am expecting from next gen.
The video did nothing for me, actually i thought it looked like ass, but that was mostly due to stupid camera angles (NO MORE FLOATING CAMERAS IN REPLAYS DAMMIT. they always break the photo-realistic-enchant) and the fact it was very low res.
The first picture might very well have been taken from the same replay footage, and God is it beautiful.

Now i'm pretty sure what made most footage look like xbox1 is the fact a lot of poly's were used for small details which went lost in the compression processes and because of the very small size of the movies.
When seen in proper resolution screenshots, there's no way these games could be mistaken for current gen, pd0 aside, maybe.

PS: it's been used since 1997's Gran Turismo, but now, for the first time evar

Finally the moment I have been waiting for, the moment where racing graphics would reach the point where throwing more polys at the car would mean NOTHING. From now on, the game is what console puts more cars on track!

I still say we're not QUITE there. The headlights and front still look a bit jagged, and the front left of the bumper looks ever so slightly weird. People said the same thing at GT3, that racing graphics really couldn't improve much, but it looks like a dinosaur now. I expect the same will happen NEXT next gen. Perhaps even later this gen, but I still think we haven't reached photo realism though.

That being said, when I first looked at the screen shots I made several very odd (and completely involuntary) noises. The room mate probably thought I was beating off or something.

Gek we get the point, you worship GT's nutsack. Now stop trolling in the godamn discussion already. Let next gen. fans enjoy the pictures.

Not quite in that shot. This one on the other hand......

Honestly, the first screen I've ever had to really study to figure out it's a game. I thought some joker dropped a photo into the thread.

None of the shots are perfectly photorealistic. They all look great, though. God, I can't wait to play a racing game that looks like this.

I will vomit in utter disgust, if this game doesn't support a true force feedback wheel!

PGR doesn't have the right style for it to be photorealistic. I still think some of the GT4 replay shots look more photorealistic than this.

Next generation car game debates are going to be hilarious.

"Forza 3 looks like a first generation Xbox 360 game. Gran Turismo 6 is the most realistic."

:p
