If u read it closely you can see she says that the PS3 will be 10 times more powerful than the ps2. Amazing how far a pair of boobs can get u these days.

Because gaming journalism was so honorable and distinguished before she got a column?

Good for her. Work it for all its worth.

Don't get me wrong if i had a pair id shake that money maker until a had a Microsoft sized coporation, im just saying, it is amazing.

Affirmation that there is no god....nah, I'm just kidding - FHM has always sucked. She actually has quite a nice body, Photoshop enhanced though it may be (I don't remember her having hips). I also find it amusing how she criticizes video games for portraying women in stereotypical manners and yet here she is in the FHM OMH TEH VIDEO GAME column half naked.

FHM doesn't suck. I love that mag, I signed up for a free subscription about 3 years ago (didn't give them any CC numbers or anything) and they keep sending them to me! :lol

That is such rich dripping Irony i think someone should e-mail her G4 email addresss and tell her.

I signed up for a free FHM subscription and they started sending me Stuff for free. But most of the articles, little picture quotes, etc just seem like they were scribed by a warehouse of horney 14-year olds. Granted, that's probably the target audience. I can't complain too much - I didn't pay anything for them and I keep them in my bathroom as backup jerk-off material. Just wish a more 'adult' magazine like this didn't feel the need to airbrush out the all-evil nipple (OF DOOM), but I suppose we can thank American standards on that one...

FHM is filled with mostly skanky ass fakies.

What ever happened to truly beautiful women? Playboy in the 60s and 70s was freaking amazing.

You totally should! Also, CC Kevin Pereira, maybe they'll mention it on AOTS. The two people that watch it will get a kick out of it.

If you read it closely, she says that the PS3 will run ten times faster than the PS2, not that it'll be ten times more powerful. (Yes, there's a difference.) Amazing how far paying attention will get you these days. You ought to try it sometime. :p

Yeah, really. That column actually isn't that far removed from Dan Hsu's little personal rants at the beginning of every EGM. It's not like it's horrible or anything--not very interesting, maybe, but not horrible by any means.

I used to think that Morgan Webb -- along with Adam Sessler -- was pretty lame due to X-Play, but seeing the both of them on unscripted shows like Attack of the Show and that E3 thing assures me that it's not their fault; the writers are to blame. What X-Play needs to is drop the writers and hire ones that are actually funny. Or just make it unscripted.

Speaking of AOTS: is it just me, or is that Seanbaby a fucking douchebag and a half?

Man. Game journalism. I tells ya.

Faster, powerful - define the difference for us Tellaerin.

This is the problem inherent in putting a half naked morgan next to things i have to read.

True, but even on a show with more improvisation like AOTS, she just wasn't that interesting. Her attempts at snide humor generally just fall flat. Sessler, on the other hand, has good host potential and, in fact, used to host a good gaming show. If they'd stop injecting heroin directly into his testicles, he may be a good one again, but I guess we must keep the "XTREME" in "X-Play".

Yeah, it's just you. Seanbaby should be co-host every week.

His act would wear thin pretty quick. Let him stick to playing Barbie and Mary Kate & Ashley Grahmn Is Kidnapped games and proclaim how shockingly crappy they are. It's a job that needs to be done!

Good for her. Though she was pretty rude at a party I went to, I am always in favor of people making money. Plus, she does have SOME knowledge, more knowledge than most people writing videogame columns in magazines, so she could get some real information out there.

But there is definite irony in her going to FHM, when she talks about half naked women in every game.

You need me to explain why CPU speed isn't the only determining factor when gauging hardware performance? How long have you been posting on GAF again? :p Here's a little experiment for you: Find two PC's that are identical in all respects except their CPU speed. Stick a decent 3D card in the slower one, and let the faster one default to the el cheapo graphics chipset on the motherboard. Install Unreal Tournament on both machines. Now compare the performance you get from the slower machine to how the game runs in software rendering mode at the same resolution on the faster machine. Once you're finished, you ought to be able to define the difference between speed and power without my help - if nothing else, you'll know from firsthand experience that the two aren't identical. :p

I think your definitions stink personally.

There are not "definitions" of speed and power in computing. It's just a generally used qualitative remark. People can use the terms on an overall system or individual components.

I asked you to define it because I thought your original comment was bub-kiss to begin with. People use the words "speed" and "power" interchangably and it doesn't matter. You are nitpicking over something that doesn't deserve it.

I can take 2 PCs, with different configurations, and benchmark them using a particular app. Then I can take those results and say one is more powerful or more faster by "x" amount for that app. It doesn't matter if I say powerful or faster - it's basically the same damn thing.

No one ever mentioned the CPU specifically in the PS2 -> PS3 comment. Or the graphics, or anything. It was a general overall remark.

yeah, the writing style is the same as all the other stuff in the mag. I don' think she wrote it.

Although beauty is no doubt a subjective thing to argue about I will say that Morgan Webb, while hardly a classic hotty on the order of Marilyn Monroe or I dunno lets just go ahead and say Pamela Anderson. She is still pretty easy on the eyes. And she's not all that opposed to at least pretending to care about video games.

I'd have to say she's not much less qualified to write about games than any other person sitting at a desk with a word processor running.

Though I'd probably rather read about what Adam has to say as opposed to Morgan but... she does probably look better in a two piece.

God damn, people like you are so annoying.

But yeah, the monthly thing is kind of stupid, but this is what happens I guess.

But as for 10 times more powerful, do we know exactly how many times more power than PS2 it is supposed to be? Hasn't Sony SAID it would be 10 times more powerful or something? It might not be, but they're promising some stuff that looks 6-7 more times powerful. It's not that big of a deal. :P

The word 'speed' (and not 'power') is commonly used with respect to a given system's CPU speed, and tends to be a discrete measurement. 'Power' is a far more nebulous term applied to overall performance (where consoles are concerned, performance in game-related, graphically-taxing applications). You could conceivably argue that the SNES was as powerful as the Genesis overall (and more powerful in some respects), but as far as speed is concerned, the Genesis is the clear winner. There's a definite distinction between the two.

Speed/Power are qualitative terms. Megarhurtz, Tera-Flops, ... are quantitative and used in measurements.

Personally, I have seen the terms speed/power used interchangably plenty of times.

Thanks, man. From now on, I'll take it as an article of faith that a system with a lightning-fast CPU is always going to outperform - that is, to be more powerful than - one with a slower CPU for graphically-intensive applications, regardless of RAM, GPU performance, or any other factors that could conceivably impact performance. Because speed=power, and I was an idiot to say otherwise. There, happy?

sounds to me like you've heard them used wrongly plenty of times as well.

I actually find Morgan pretty attractive, but FHM, and all men's magazines in general, manage to suck any genuinely attractive qualities out from any woman for their generic photoshoots.

That being said, even though she probably has no control over it, she still looks dumb for her comments about women and having a pic in her with a god-awful stupid looking bikini.

Morgan's such a goddamned bitch. Met her again at this passed year's E3, much to my chagrin, and she was as frigid as the year before. Adam Sessler continues to be the man though.

Whee, semantic arguments rock.

I only brought it up because the OP misquoted a passage from the scan (which was right in front of him, though I can see how he might have been distracted by the breasts) which was supposed to show us just how clueless Morgan Webb supposedly is. The thing is, if you actually read what's written there ('[the PS3] will run ten times faster than the PS2'), it's not that farfetched--IIRC, the CPU in the PS2 ran at a surprisingly slow speed (294.9 MHz) by current standards, so for the PS3 to be running ten times faster than that doesn't seem out of line at all. Instead, somewhere betwixt the page and GAF, that somehow turned into, 'Hahaha, Morgan Webb says PS3 will be 10x more powerful than PS2! She is teh st00pid! All her talent's in her tits!' So I figured I'd say something. :p

Huh, that's interesting. I met Morgan at my first E3 and we talked for a long time, at least an hour, and we took a few photos together. She was really nice, especially considering that it was in the hotel hallway that we met. She really didn't have any obligation to stop and talk, but she was totally cool about it.

I've only had a couple of passing moments with Adam, but he seems geniune when he introduces himself.

That is the first time I have heard her being nice to anyone. I met her at a party and she was not a joy to be around at all. Adam was cool as hell though. All I did was say hello to her, she blew me off and Adam quickly made the save shaking my hand and asking me about myself. She just looked disgusted.

Hard to imagine that face being haughty.
Nice to hear that Sessler is nice, though.

Maybe she thought you were ugly?

People think she's hot and she knows it. For her comments about being in a bikini, truth is, she may have said the comments slanting women in games to get cool points from men and women about games. For a while now, people have been saying that women are poorly portrayed in games and she probably figured she'd make herself a figurehead. In real life, she probably doesn't give a fuck or is offended that they didn't use her body for the 3D model.

Anyway, I don't read FHM. Its Playboy for 10 year olds. Their reviews tend to be short and lack any kind of detail. Then they have the women on their magazines. Its not the heavily airbrushed pictures that get me, its their dumbass interviews and their range of equally dumbass questions:

1) They ask if they realize that they are hot. The girl then acts shocked because as a girl she was ugly, a tomboy, or a geek. She laughs and acts like nobody thinks she's hot. Newsflash: If you are in a photoshoot, someone finds you attractive.

2) The girl makes a comment about being a closet freak. She either is a porn addict, masturbates daily, or has a suitcase full of sex toys. Basically the same shit most women do (except for the suitcase full of toys) but somehow it makes her hotter, well, the magazine wants you to think so.

3) FHM asks a question about her brainpower so she doesn't look like a total bimbo. So that way their caption can read, "<Girl's name>, Hot and Brainy!" As if anyone outside of herself gives a fuck how smart she is.

Rant finished.

Not sticking up for Morgan or anything, but those of you who have been given the brush-of from her; You weren't wearing a Zelda shirt, pants hiked up to your bellybutton, a Nintendo Powerglove, and carrying a Mario lunchbox were you? Cuz y'know, I'd have given you the brush-off too. :P

Yeah, and that should have an effect on me saying hello to her? Man, that is just common courtesy. We are at a PARTY, everyone is saying hi, hanging out, drinking and she is all with a fucked up attitude. Like I said, there have been numerous Morgan sightings on this board, and every single one except for Jeff's has been the same. Stuck up, not wanting anything to do with the world. It was really weird as I met people at that party who are way more popular and important than her and they were friendly.

Jesus, it was an NFL party with hall of famers mingling through the crowd, ESPN personalities, P. Diddy, NFL players, and they all were friendly. But not Morgan. It just was like she went out of the way to be rude. Not like I asked her to fuck or something.

How many women do you talk to that consider themselves attractive? A lot of attractive women think they are the best thing to happen to the Earth since the creation of the planet itself. Not to stereotype but its true, more often than not. She probably thought you are a loser who would gush over how hot she is.

She has a deluded since of reality because she thinks all men want in her pants. Thats how it is.

Well, she did bitch out one of my fellow staff members at E3 as well this year. I must have just caught her in a good moment that day. Maybe I looked so pathetic in my Zelda/Power Glove combo that she felt bad and decided to talk nice.
