I love freedom of speech, but i also know that with that freedom comes consequences to the things i say. The danes making these cartoons is just like a lone white supremacist spewing off hate speech in front of thousands of black people, he's just asking for it. What the reaction to these cartoons will be, no one knows, but we all can agree nothing good will come of it.

Are the Danes at fault for the negative reactions that follow from publishing a cartoon? I think not. They publish a cartoon of Muhammad. Radical muslims murder and burn things as a result. Would we just 'laugh this off' if this sort of drawing was syndicated in major newspapers or there was a contest held to create these kinds of cartoons? Now take that a step further and insult these people's reasons for living... Something that has eternal repercussions in their mind.

Don't think you're not going to get a somewhat similar reaction from Christians, Catholic, Jews, or other religions. Try posting a Heil Hitler flyer in a synagogue or walk inside one with a copy of Mein Kampf in your hand. Try drawing and showing a cartoon of the Virgin Mary having sex to devout Catholics and see what kind of reaction you will get.
