It's the amount of atmosphere that is between us and the sun. It filters out the radiation(light, IR, UV). The more you go to the poles the more atmosphere there is between you and the sun. Which is caused by the angle. Ofcourse the angle changes during the year.

No, it is entirely due to the angle of the ground relative to the sun. As the ground is tilted away from the sun in the winter months, it intercepts less sunlight, and therefore receives less heat.

Its actually simple geometry, nothing more.

7. Adults don't grow new brain cells - False

well, do brain tumours count?

A doctor told me that the brain stops making new cells, but tumor victims for some reason the process kicks off again in a certain area and is uncontrolled, which is what kills you.

#12... I remember them showing that on The Sopranos, when
Christopher had to dig up the Czech guy
... guess they didn't check their facts on that one. That was pretty disgusting, regardless.

The headless chicken thing isn't entirely true, is it? I remember that one famous "headless" chicken, but it only stayed alive because 1) they messed up on the chop and left part of the brain in tact and 2) there was a blood clot in the neck that prevented it from bleeding to death.
