I have no idea. But while my launch OG Xbox had issues when I played on it last year, my Gamecube felt pretty much as new when I used it this summer. I bought it in 2005.

the last time i have tried my day one Gamecube i have noticed some strange hiccups in the loadings

next time i'll return to the other house (where most of my retroarsenal is), i'll try to carefully clean the lens

seeing the first results here, perhaps it's just something like that

GameCube because you could bludgeon someone to death with it and it would still launch games no problem.

Sega Saturn close second. My Japanese launch model must be like 31 years old at this point and still plays discs no bother.

It's laughable how anyone voted for PS2.

Should be disqualified just for the lawsuit about it.

PS1. All of you voting for PS2 is because you trashed your PS1 with piracy and then blame the hardware, but that thing is solid AS A ROCK.

My Wii is coming up on 20 years old and works flawlessly, and it has fallen off tables/cabinets multiple times, including once during a game of Mario Kart, and it didn't even freeze. Thing's way tougher than it looks.

My original Xbox seemed very sturdy, never broke.
My PS2 broke once for sure, I think I had to replace the laser diode.
My PS1 and Saturn never broke but wouldn't call them sturdy.
My PS4 never had any issues.

idk over all these years I've had a launch ps1 shit out an two dreamcasts. And those were both back in the day. Everything I have still works great now.

My launch PS2 is still going strong, it's taken a beating for sure. Plenty of use and abuse. I really need to look into those HDD loaders. Gamecube still going strong as well.
