Motherboard Question

The fan on my motherboard stopped working. Not the fan cooling the cpu, but the one sitting atop the heatsink for the small chip directly soldered on the board.

the one in the middle (not my pic, but same motherboard):

Can I let my computer run without it until I get it replaced, 4/5 days? Or should I just let it sit? Motherboard is an Abit IC7-G btw.

if you have good case fans that get good air flow thru your case it should be fine. Go to abits web page and get their temperature monitor just to be safe though.

Downloaded the abit utility, now my system fan shows "off" but it's running. =/

Temperatures a little high, 54 on the cpu and 43 of pwm( temperature around the CPU power supplying circuit on motherboard) system temp is fine at 32

54C isnt bad at all depending on what processor you have, if it gets near the 65 mark then i would worry. Since this is only temporary then id say your fine for the few days you need it to work.

It's not needed if you've got adequate case cooling and you're not OCing.

Those motherboards are designed to OC, and they've got extra cooling that's not necessarily needed for stock.

I've got the ABIT IC7 MAX 3 mobo and I disconnected that fan a month ago in an attempt to minimize noise. Turns out my BFG 6800 Ultra OC is the source, but I've been to lazy to hook it back up.
