Motherboards for P4's

I use an Intel xxxxxxxxxxxPERLxxxxxxxxxxxxx thingy. <---- That's as much of the model # I can remember. It's pretty damn loaded. Firewire, 5.1 digital and optical.

Next time around I'm prolly going to go Gigabyte.

Unless I'm planning to buy hardware in the next week, I generally put it all out of my head, sorry.

I'm pretty fond of my Asus P4P800. Onboard ethernet and sata/raid support. Been running one for about 8 months (give or take) and it's been rock solid. There are a few revisions and a 'deluxe' model, I have the deluxe.

I'd just go over to Anandtech and read the motherboard reviews/roundups. Usually pretty informative.

Yeah, everytime I go to sites like Anandtech and Tom's I get swamped by all the info.

I'll be upgrading soon as well, and I've had little issue with Asus boards over the years. I might go with a P4P800 as well.

The absolute king of P4 motherboards is the Asus P4C-800 deluxe. Go to any review site or any computer forum and that's what you'll hear.

Personally, I recommend the ABit IC7 series of motherboards for S478 P4s. The IC7-G is a great value, and the MAX3 is the overclocking king.
