damn, there you are Gek... where you been? lost in Most Wanted again? :lol
Mostly, much fun; sound, physics, graphics, and structure, I dont know how it got such low scores, I guess the console versions got gimped?

That shot is insane. Looks really damn amazing.

The thing is, most of it seems to be in the lighting. If you look at all of the details in those shots, it doesn't seem to be that far ahead of the MotoGP games that were released on XBOX. Yet, somehow, the lighting brings it to the point where some shots look shockingly realistic. Here's hoping for 60 fps (I'm sure they'll deliver this).

I think it is a bit unfair to slam Polyphony's bike game. It looks damn amazing for a current generation title. Obviously it isn't going to compare to something like this.

When i saw this, i thought next gen for sure. MGS4 was great but this is like looking at a photo, kinda great in a different way.

Utterly gorgeous, I mean there isn't a whole lot you can do to make realistic circuit racing look "exciting" in screenshots because of the location of most tracks but the 360/real-life comparison kind of fucks up anyone saying this looks bad!

I MEAN WHAT, YOU'RE COMPARING XBOX 360 GAMES TO PS2 GAMES TO SEE WHICH LOOKS BETTER?

FUCK ME IN THE EAR

*dies*

It's about the only time i've ever agreed with you. For sure i'm sick of the constant comparisons.

This game on Xbox live should be awesome. 16 riders smashing into each other on the first bend is always good for a laugh.

MotoGP 1/2/3 looked really great in motion, and really fun to play as well. I let one of my friends play it and when he went full throttle on a long straight, he freaked out because the game just felt really fast. Can't wait to see this one.. 60fps + motion blur FTW.

2 and 3 had shit framerates in comparison to the original, though (well, unless you played it on the PC).

I hope they put some energy in the sound as well.

Cause if these bikes are gonna sound like hopped up sewing machines again, Im not gonna be happy.

If anything, this thread shows what Nintendo meant by diminishing returns. The screens look nearly photo-realistic. But then you look at the previous MotoGP's and the PS2 game and they also look damn good. The differences you'll see in the 360 game have little to do with graphics. The game will have more bikes on screen, better lighting, better particle effects, better framerate etc. Screen grab comparisons of this gen vs. last gen will not reveal much.

Which is why most differences come from other things like more accurate physics, far better engine sounds etc. I've said all along that graphics aren't the most important thing and that's going to get more and more true as this generation goes on, IMO. Screen grabs/captures are only going to show a tiny portion of what is being improved

I'm very interested in the season this is based on. MotoGP3 was a big time bummer because it didn't include Laguna Seca, which was on the calendar for the first time this year in MotoGP. I was tapped to review the game for CGM and that really kinda ticked me off because I was expecting it to be in there.

So what's the deal? Is this going to be based on the 2005 season? 2006? Or are we still racing in 2004?

EDIT... Looks like Laguna is in. Should've looked closer at the pix.

Jeez. I'm trying real goddamn hard to stay away from the 360 and "next gen" in particular. At least until the dust settles. But damn, these shots aren't helping one bit. Now with the 4 shoulder buttons on the 360 controller there won't be a need for insane configs just to do manual. *Sigh*

I didn't bother to pick up 3 since I was waiting for this one, but I did play 1 and 2 extensively. The sound was dead on in those, so did they change it in 3 or do you just not know what they sound like in real life?

...:lol

Yep, Laguna is in. We should see Shanghai (Chinese GP) and Istanbul (Turkish GP) circuits in this game too.

Windyman, firstly I would like to congratulate the team on making the best racing sim this generation. The Moto GP series (Xbox ones) are amazing games.

Secondly, I'll be buying this on day one because I know already how well it's going to play. MGP3 was the best Xbox Live racer this year

Next, this looks bloody awesome! It looks just about real in some shots

And, lastly, wtf are you people smoking? :lol

wow, looks really really great, but more importantly, this series is unbelievably good. insta-purchase.

looks good, but I wish they worked more on the rider positioning. Right now they look like really awkward and don't really feel like they're leaning in. That and

Tamada is gonna lose his toes. Get those toes on the peg! :lol

Dude, I have attended my fair share of MotoGP races and I own a motorcycle. The sound was NOT dead on in the games.

Thats because Motogp3 came out a full 1yr+ before the FIM put Laguna on the 2005 calendar year.

The sound is fucking AMAZING in MotoGP3, thats the biggest change from 2 to 3, you can tell what bike is behind you by the sound...
Although the Ducati is not ear-splittingly loud like it is in real life...

Blazing Angels, Oblivion, GRAW, Splinter Cell 4, The Outfit, and now this. Wow. Pretty damn good selection of games in less than 6 months the 360 has.

Er, WTF? Moto GP 3 came out two months AFTER the Laguna race took place. :lol The game was based on the full 2004 season, so that meant the 2004 schedule and team lineups were followed (F1 games used to be made this way, till they figured out it was silly and made the games with current year team lineups and schedules). I'm hoping this new Moto GP has the team lineups and schedule for next season, instead of being based on the season that just wrapped up.
