Enjoy 12 minutes of exclusive gameplay from Mouse: P.I. for Hire, the upcoming rubberhose-animated first-person shooter starring Troy Baker as the titular rodent detective Jack Pepper. This gameplay is from Vaudeville, the second mission of the campaign and the first case Jack gets assigned. We'll have more exclusive coverage all February long as part of IGN First!

Mouse: P.I. for Hire will be released on March 19 for PC, PlayStation platforms, Xbox platforms, and Nintendo Switch platforms.

Oh man, the furries gonna go CRAZY for this one!

For completely unrelated reasons, I'm excited about it as well :P

Looks good but also way too easy. There's health and save points like every two feet in this video. Plenty of ammo too.

Surprisingly choppy movement. I was under the impression this was going to be fast paced, but this looks more like a movie game. I was skeptical about this one anyways, but it's a definite maybe now.

You shouldn't trust journalist footage snippets when it comes to the difficulty of a game.

This is IGN and they're showing off level 2. It could also be easy mode.

True, but if Normal is even half that, then I'll probably need to do Hard, and I pretty much always just play on Normal.

Enjoy this exclusive new boss battle gameplay from Mouse: P.I. for Hire, the upcoming rubber hose-animated first-person shooter starring Troy Baker as Detective Jack Pepper. In this video you'll see Jack taking on the Third Wife in the Spooky Village. And keep checking back all February long for more exclusive IGN First coverage of Mouse!

We are excited to share the official gameplay reveal for Robo-Betty, just one of the unique bosses that you will encounter while sleuthing through Mouseburg.

Cartoon weapons, devastating power-ups and manic boss fights await in MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, launching on 19 March 2026.

An inside look at the very unique visual style of the upcoming black-and-white, 1930's-style rubberhose-animated first-person shooter Mouse: P.I. for Hire with two of the lead developers, including early test footage!

Mouse: P.I. for Hire, based on what I've played so far, is far more than its distinct 1930's rubberhose-animated look. It sure seems to have legitimate gameplay depth and mechanics to it as well, and it's moved up my list of anticipated games in a year that's already packed with some serious potential.

Amazing visual style, but they really need to juice up the gunplay and the moment to moment on this one. Eerily feels like FPS games from the late early 2000s right now.

Do you think we will see your Ori games on PS5 at anytime?

Meh, the 3D environments don't look like a cartoon but more like low detail graphics from a mobile 3D game in black and white.

They also don't mix well with the cartoon characters and weapon.

That's how hand drawn cartoons work, though. The still backgrounds are always more detailed than what's animated, like the characters and things that interact with the characters. I think it works for this game.

I really like the rubber hose cartoon art style of the game and the game itself feels fresh and unique. My only gripe is the black and white noire look. I really wish the colour scheme was more like Cuphead.

Taking a look at the upcoming boomer shooter, Mouse P.I For Hire, a game that is surprisingly more robust than you would initially think with a charming hand drawn animation style to look at as well!
