Can I find out why you're interesting in such a thing? I just find .mov files to be far superior qualitywise to wmv's.

wasn't for me. A friend of mine has to do some project for school, and the only video editing software he has is Windows Movie Maker.

WMM gives you an error if you try and open a .mov, so he needed to convert it

Really? That's weird as at least at the same bitrate MOV is always poorer quality. I consider wmv and Divx/Xvid files to be the best, and Quicktime/real to be quite less.

Agreed, those types have always looked and played much better on my pc.
