Movie starring a game tester

Is this the movie where the guy is staying in the room where the lady died on the floor and no one came to help her?

Saw this trailer recently when we went to see.... something... seemed like it might be funny.

That was probably the greatest movie trailer I've ever seen.

Shit, I wanna be in that movie.

I sense a movie full of Atari-esque bleeps and people pretending to play bad cg movies. At least they weren't holding the controllers in the classic joystick style, gotta give them a little credit for that I guess.

Went and saw this last night at a preview screening and really enjoyed it. Some of the humor is a little raunchy (friend repeatedly said that, but you know those Sandler flicks), but overall it was quite funny. A lot of accurate game stuff (except for a Miyamoto quote at the end which seemed forced, like they needed to mention him somewhere in the film but couldn't figure out where.)

After the screening, they had 4 of the main guys in the film come out and do a Q&A. I asked how much of the games they actually played on the set and they said once the director said cut, they played whatever machines were there. They mentioned having gamers who'd have to play games (like the Intellivision Frog Bog) in a certain way to match the script and them giving these guys a hard time whenever they'd miss something or not do it exactly right. They also all talked about their favorite games and such. Allen Covert's character has all these Intellivision game boxes in his cube and wears one of the Intellivision shirts that I picked up last year at Classic Gaming Expo. (I owned one as a kid). I talked to him after the Q&A and he mentioned he owns all the current systems (with the exception of the DS) and goes all the way back to Intellivision which he still whips out and plays to this day (I know one of the founders of Imagic so we were discussing the game that guy wrote for the Intellivision, "Demon Attack").

If you're a fan of Sandler films like Happy Gilmore or you enjoy comedies like Harold & Kumar and are a gamer, I think you'll like this film. I expect many people to be quoting it in about a month from now once it hits theaters. I think it's the closest you'll get to accuracy while still being a comedy. (no made up game sounds, they approached the companies like Microsoft, sent them the script, asked for games/xboxes to use in the film and whatever they received, they used in the film.) One of the amusing things was that they went to eat at the Tommy's closest to our hotel/where E3 is held. I don't know if they wanted the biggest one/original, or if it's closeness to where E3 is held is intentional. (I still prefer Fatburger, though. ESPECIALLY charbroiled. mmm.)

They also revealed that
The game Alex's character made in the movie, Demonik (iirc) the real developers only had 1 level done for the movie for the xbox, but the full game should be out Summer 2006 for the 360.

Go to the official site, download/watch the trailer and the clip. Good stuff. I think a lot of people will be surprised by this film.
