In what looks like a major career boost, I'm quite possibly moving out to the coast from Edmonton in five or six months.

My questions are as follows:

What is the cost of living like? Are apartments expensive? Gas?

I know about Main and Hastings, but what other areas of Vancouver should one avoid?

Nightlife? I've been to the Cobalt and The Commodore, and really dug those types of places. I heard the Cobalt shut down though. Is that true?

Where does Bishoptl live? Can you send me his address? Possibly a picture? Maybe even some blood samples and a pair of his pants?

Any help would be appreciated.

Besides Toronto, Vancouver is one of the most expensive cities to live in Canada. Better hope your career boost is enough to support your increased cost of living!
