Music That Is Incomprehensibly Bad To You

Oh I forgot to add that shitty ass anamanaguchi band and any chiptune bullshit. I get it you like video games, they don't need to take over every aspect of your life.

Sometimes when people accidentally hear some extreme death metal on my iPhone right in between all the easier-to-appreciate music they all give me this face.

They can't even comprehend that people listen to this, or even classify it as music.
ITS GOOD I SWEAR THEY ARE JUST ANGRY ALL THE TIME

Yup, that's about right. I occasionally like something along the lines of Between the Buried and Me and Arch Enemy when I'm in the right mood. So I have maybe 20 songs on my phone from them. Friends love to set a device to shuffle and let it go. 1 in 10 ends up with this reaction haha.

I don't think Daft Punk is exceptionally consistent with their quality, but they have a lot of songs that sound like songs and are fun to listen to.

Rollin' and Scratchin' though

Admittedly, I've never listened to the whole track that I can recall. Maybe it gets better. idk. There was another track just like it from the same album. Can't remember which was worse.

Every Daft Punk song has justified their existence on Alive 1997 or 2007

Oh man, what the fuck is crabcore? Judging from the video, I guess it has something to do with humping your instrument?

Yeah its the way they mimic the bendy legs and shit like crabs (I guess? Since Ive never seen a crab like that before) mixed with the emo hardcore nutless autotuned trash that is being emitted.

I can't handle hardcore music with screaming. Just can't do it.

Mainstream country.

I have no clue how to properly express this but there's some kinds of rap where instead of rapping on the beat or with a flow they seem to squeeze a bunch of words in there out of rhythm.

Country Music.

Hopefully someone someday will write songs that aren't about Beer, Hicks getting Chicks or Hunting.

I like Zac Brown Band, but that's it. I bring this argument up to friends occasionally and am met with the "But country music is about the issues that EVERYONE has. It's real". And then I hear "She Thinks my Tractor's Sexy" and I feel like that's not valid.

Haha, oh wait, that actually is part of it? That's amazing.

Also, amazing avatar.

SIA - especially her latest one. So screechy and slidey and unpleasant to listen to.

Lana del Ray - Holy Fucking Christ. Cheer up, love...

Tejano, and all other forms of Mexican Polka. White Polka too.

I'm pretty musically tolerant, but I can't stand any of that shit.

My list of awfully awful music that I can't stand from bottom to top:

Hip hop/rap
Funk (Brazilian)
Regeaeton
Salsa

I've tried to learn to like salsa, but I just can't. Until I can manage to at least tolerate salsa I don't even put an effort in the others.

I get why people like country, even though I don't. What I don't get is Death Grips. It's just loud, pointless, shitty noise. That band are complete cocks to their fans doesn't help either.

Most mainstream country (I think it's actually referred to as alternative country now) since the 90s. Crunkcore is another genre that just isn't ever happening for me. Something that transcends genres are bands that tend to only be didactic in everything they do. Even if I can appreciate the music and even agree with what they're saying, it's hard to escape that every track, video, promo, etc is lecturing me. Sometimes it works, but it usually falls flat.

I've tried to become more open minded about music when I stopped being a part of "the scene." Flying Lotus and Holy Fuck were turning points into making me appreciate radically different music than I did before. The former two genres though? Nah, I gave it as many shots as I could, but it's never stuck.

Someone once posted some Japanese noise once. That's the best way to describe it. The poster had a better name for it which I can't remember, but it was random notes with no melody. Just a jumbled mess. Best way I can describe it is modern art in musical form.

Flying Lotus was a biggie for me two. It just never quite stuck, but I kept coming back to it. Eventually, it clicked and now I love the stuff.

What do you not like about kpop?

I don't like the sound of it.

Also, less importantly, the genres don't seem like genres, they seem more like industries. The stars seem like cuts of meat or manifested fetishes, rather than people. I suspect both are highly controlled by old asian men in grey boardrooms.

Noise rock, noisecore, or noise pop is usually assigned to that type of music here.

Kelis.....I don't think she makes music with a plan. Writes lyrics...gets a beat and then sings the lyrics as contrary to the music as she possibly can. I think she has talent though...which makes it worse when I hear it. CAN NOT STAND MILKSHAKE.

99% of Pop music
99% of Hip Hop post-2001
Cookie Monster Metal
White people who play "Reggae-Rock" (311 etc..)
Whiny Pop Punk
J/K-Pop
Any music with a white guy rapping (except Beasties)

all the single ladies and that generic pop that has no rhythm

lady gaga makes good music tho, so not all pop music is bad, I'm very specific here

Funny you mention Single Ladies having no rhythm considering percussion is like the only accompaniment in that song.

Metal. MEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTAAAAAAAAAAAAALL is just horrible. Death Metal in particular just makes me feel ill listening to it.

Oh, and Death Grips. I genuinely feel emotionally distressed whenever their music is played. Dunno why.

Noise stuff. I have friends who are into such music. I try to keep an open mind about music, while I don't like a lot of stuff I can see, for the most part, what appeal some genres have. But noise is just noise to me.

Well, thinking about it some more, I even get why people like noise.
