Music That Is Incomprehensibly Bad To You

"Brostep" - I still hold out that there might be a part of dubstep that might be ok but brostep, GET OUT.

And the majority of metal with growling/screaming "vocals". So boring. It's horrible when I find something like Sleep's Dopesmoker, getting into it and suddenly some dude who sounds like he just took a laxative after a week of constipation comes on and ruins the whole thing.

Happy hardcore. "Clown-step" drum and bass. Gangsta Rap. Bhangra. Gabba. Opera. Psy-Trance (not Trance). Christian Rock. Death Metal.

Drill and it's retarded step brother Bop

I can listen to almost anything. I think there's a lot of great stuff happening in hip hop and rap right now, but Drill is horrible, and Bop is almost as bad. You've got illiterate, idiotic mumble mouthed Chief Keef with his phony accent leading the charge, and a seemingly never ending crowd of imitators who are so unoriginal they can't even come up with unique names; lil bib, lil durk, lil herb, lil mouse, lil reese, lil jay...

I used to love rap from the 80's and 90's. You know, when it spoke intelligently about serious issues. (I'll preface what I'm about to say by stating not all rap artists today are like the crap I'm about to talk about)... Now we have Eminem (I used to love him also) who seems to make hits always featuring some shithouse pop singer. And every bloody song has to start with a female singing, then serious rap, followed by the female repeating the starting verse, then Eminem gets serious rapper again, closed out by female singing the same SHIT again! And it's not just Eminem that does it either!
Oh and also swap the rap songs with female pop artists using "rappers" in their terrible songs.
I also hate linkin park. Every song is identical and boring.

The kind of metal where the instruments are just a blur of noise and I can't understand a fucking word that the lead "singer" is grunting.

I love metal, btw. I just can't stand certain sub-genres. It's just noise to me.

Oh, and 99% of pop/pop-rap; with it's materialistic, self-centred, egotistical lyrics and mind-numbingly simple and repetitive beats and/or melodies.

Oh, then there's this. Lmao.

Pretty much anything country. It just feels like nearly every song can be written in 30 minutes and produces in a few hours. I just feel like music should take more talent, work, and effort than that.

What the fuck is this even? I can understand if you were, say, learning to play an instrument and this came out and you said to yourself "Oh wow! I made a chain of notes that wasn't entirely random!" But to be a fully grown adult with years of practice and learning under your belt, go into a studio, hit record and say "this is music! I like this and want other people to hear it!" is not sane, rational thinking. The fact that four musicians, a producer, and god knows how many suits all said "let's publish this" is amazing to me.

Amusingly, this has made me give ETID another shot and I'm actually digging them this time round. Thanks dood!

"Smooth" jazz, for one. It's like anti-music, it's so bland and unobtrusive. Fucking horrible. I quite honestly feel like if you listen to it you must not like music, it's so divorced from actual music played by people who give a shit. I've never gotten the appeal of reggae either.

wast majority of rap
most black metal except for burzum (and I guess I could find a few more exceptions like Deafheaven and Wolves in the throne room, but really dislike stuff like Immortal, mayhem and the rest from that wave, hell honestly I'm not sure if it's the music or the over the top cartoony bullshit surrounding it, most of them come off as trying too hard to be edgy)
noise
dubstep

I'm sure I missed some

Green Day

Most modern country music. But I do inexplicably enjoy some of the really terrible songs the most, like Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue and Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy.

And there definitely is music that is just bad.

Y'all hating on Animal Collective and Death Grips

My answer: jam bands. I hate Phish with a burning passion, though my roommate who plays them all the time is mostly to blame.

I could make a huge list of music I dislike, but this is the only type of music that truly fits the "incomprehensibly bad" description for me. I can understand enjoying maybe one song like this for the sheer energy and adrenaline of it, but I can't believe it's an entire genre of music.

Dubstep and overly egregious Death Metal (the REALLY aggressive kind). So incredibly noisy. I can understand the feeling of elation granted by other forms of metal and electronica, but why would you want such an assault on your ears?

EDIT: Didn't read the OP, but I still don't like rap

Oh, also, Attila. Never have I hated a metalcore band as much as this one. Suck my fuck? Really?

I'm surprised the amount of vitriol Every Time I Die is getting versus something like this (although it isn't mutually exclusive):

BrokenCyde - Freaxxxx

My wife makes fun of me for liking Every Time I Die, but I've never met a single person that can tolerate the above. Also whoever said Insane Clown Posse is spot on too.

I too don't understand the loads of ETID hate. ESPECIALLY compared to BrokenCyde.

Gutter Phenomenon has been their weakest since their first album. It's been all up from there imo.

This is the number 1 song in country music right now. It is not even a country song, well outside of the dude having a twang.

And I really do not have a problem with country. I actually quite enjoy a lot of country. And it does not have to be old school, recently Kacey Musgraves is super awesome. But the shit that is selling is horrifying.

I can handle noise music but I've known about that track for years and have been unable to listen to the whole thing even once.

You know, I'm pretty tolerant to most music in general. The genre doesn't really matter, I can find good stuff in every genre.

The thing is, even if I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to something, I can appreciate it anyways because I see how it could be 'used' for something in some way. Like when I hear old rock like The Beatles, I don't think it sounds very good to my ear. I still appreciate the era it invokes in me and the feelings that come with it.

I almost posted another song just because of the line "gettin' fucked up makes me wanna punch babies," but this one does a much better job of showcasing them.

Merzbow makes some good stuff. The problem is it gets buried under his other 100 releases every year. He's in some serious need of quality control.

Yeah the guy pumps it out at an insane pace. Are there any good entry points for his stuff or noise in general?
