My carbon monoxide detector is going off, what do I do?

Just stay calm, take a deep breath, and alter your will to give all your Earthly posessions to Mike Works. Then just take another deep breath and make sure you get it certified online. Take one more deep breath and lie down to gather yourself.

You're gonna be okay.

Find some oxygen atoms and distribute them liberally.

(Open some windows and then call the appropriate party to fix your furnace/whatever)

If this isn't a joke post (I hope it is), you should at least open the windows before checking with GAF. I'd call the fire department or gas company since there seems to be a gas leak.

open all doors and windows to let the air circulate, wait outside and intermittently check if the alarm is still gong on or not. if it keeps going, call the appropriate authorities.

Definitely leave the house, and call the fire department. Maybe you could stay at a neighbour's until they arrive.

Carbon monoxide is no laughing matter.

If it was me, I'd probably screw the windows and just get the fuck outta the house.
Whatever you do, this is probably not a good time to take a nap.

1) Are you sure it's not just beeping to tell you to change the batteries?
2) Do you have any pets? Since they're smaller, they would probably get nauseous or pass out before you do.

Well, I can tell you that despite your every desire, you may actually have to get up and move away from your damned computer.

We need a facepalm smiley.

let's see.. there wasn't a helpful post for the first ten minutes. Hopefully he really wasn't waiting for some sage advice from us.

Yeah, if you're still waiting: carbon monoxide irreversibly binds to your hemoglobin with a 1000 times greater affinity than oxygen. So as you continue to breathe in CO, your blood increasingly loses the ability to pick up oxygen from your lungs to deposit it all around your body (including your brain). If you let yourself breathe in CO for too long you'll pass out and never wake up.. unless somebody opens a door or a window.

First signs/symptoms (feeling extremely ill, disoriented, passing out, seizures) won't manifest for a couple of hours typically (depending on the levels of exposure). But your body can fall into unconsciousness real quickly after the earliest symptoms so I wouldn't wait for the headache and dizziness.

I just broke my arm. What should I do?
I've just been shot. What should I do?
I think my necks broken. What should I do?

If you live in the Northeast and driving, only drift when both sides of the road is snow and no cars are coming. Take it from me.

Members' reliance on this forum is getting dangerous.
Too fucking true. Black Stallion's post was a classic in all the bad ways - about him bleeding everywhere, then posting pics, then crying about his mother coming back to shit kick him due to furniture being semi-destroyed in his basement room.. it all just made perfect comedy sense. Sometimes I wonder, seriously, are the majority of "forum help" posters stupid or have they not stopped suckling on their mother's nipple yet?

Thinking more long term, you could get a whole lot of plants and bushes and stuff to try to create a new CO2/O2 equilibrium.

ummm here is how Photosynthesis would work in your little plan

6H2O + 6CO2 +100CO ----------> C6H12O6+ 6O2 + 100CO

Aim for the head, and don't waste energy running. Walking fast will do fine, zombies are slow as shit.
