My cat has been missing for six days

He has never spent a single night outside. We always manage to get him inside. But last tuesday was different. My family tried, but he couldn't be bothered. Was having too much fun, I guess. Then I came home at about 1am and tried, but nothing doing. In fact, I couldn't even find him. I tried until 3am (off and on), but never saw him around the block. The next morning we tried again, but nothing. Its now been six days and we're beginning to lose all hope. We even put his food/water dishes away which was pretty emotional for my mom.

Me, I've been stuck at pessimism mixed with a grain of hope since that first morning after. Maybe I'm just not willing to face the obvious. Or maybe it's rational to believe that he may still come back. After all, I've heard many stories (even from friends/acquaintances) about cats coming back days/weeks after. But what are the odds really....

I'm sad now. He is my cat. For the first months of his life he would treat everyone equally, but since then (about 2 years since we got him) he has followed me around, came to my whistles, scratched on my door, etc. He is my little buddy.

His name is Milo. :(

hmm, 6 days isn't really that long for a cat to be gone. Cats have lives of their own.

I guess it's more worrying if he's never been out all night before, though.

Checked the local chinese place?

Just kidding. I've had cats run away before, and I know it's pretty bad sometimes. Best thing to do is just get another, or however you feel would be best to move on. If Milo comes back, you can welcome him. However, if he doesn't... you have to accept it. If he doesn't... I'm sorry for your loss. :(
