I NEVER go to the doctor. But I recently turned 40 and thought it be a good time to start to 'care'

Got a physical (learned even as a skinny dude you can have high cholesterol?! Wtf) and decided to tell him about my hip.

Basically for the last year it's sore maybe 50% of the time. Hurts to raise my leg higher then a 90° angle (like climbing a ladder) and hurts to have my legs weight put on it completely (like raising my leg to put my socks on)

His diagnosis: Stretch, then prints me out some exercises off the net.

Fine, I'm still convinced this is stage 1 before I need a replacement in 10 years, but sure I'll add some stretching routines in.

Part 2:
My balls.

For a week or two my balls have been sore. Not my actual ball, just like in the sack on the right side. It's not all the time just on occasion during the day it will be a dull soreness, not a pain but a feeling of pressure/soreness.

I told him I was worried it may be a hernia since a week before it got sore I over did a squat and it felt like I got stabbed in the got with a knife.
He touched my sack, made me take a piss test and said..
"Its a pulled muscle."

That was over a month ago and I still from time to time get it from time to time.

So, I'm convinced...my right hip hurts and the right side of my balls sack hurts also..which leads me to believe Im cancer and tumor ridden in that area. I think the cancer/tumors have spread from my hip to my balls.

Honestly, I think my problems deserved some type of x-ray/ultra sound.. but I hate doctors and hes a smug little prick and I want him burdened with the death of my misdiagnosis.

Go see another doctor to get another opinion regarding your pain. You are an old man take better care of yourself.

You may have a swollen adductus longus, you've listed most of the symptoms. It is what your doctor has said, but a more defined term than just general groin pain. Stretching is the best advice. If it gets worse you'll get sciatica which you'll want to avoid. If it spreads pain to your knee and top of your foot, you already have sciatica.

Google "groin stretches", those are ideal and you should feel a sense of relief if the diagnosis was correct. Unfortunately stretching may not be enough. Massaging right at the top of your groin also helps, as does a acupuncture. If you lay on your back, lift your bad leg and turn it as close to 90 degrees inwards as you can and have somebody put some real weight on it for a few minutes.

I have the same symptoms and have been getting treatment for the past 9 weeks. Its slowly but surely fixing me up. A physio appointment who can offer all the above plus ultrasound would be a good option if you suspect you have this problem. Yoga in the long term should see you dont get it again.

Also, ibuprofen for the pain. Good luck and do post back if any of the above helps.

Any reason why you have to go to that particular doctor?
If you aren't happy with the service he is providing or don't think he is taking your issues seriously enough try someone else.

OP, think of your son when it comes to your health. I'm dead fucking serious, it's okay if your health is slowly deteriorating. That's the process of aging, no shame in that whatsoever!

Be your own advocate and tell him what you think you need and he can put you in the right direction.

I had incredible hip pain for months that ached in the actual joint. I was convinced I had some advanced degenerative disease and the joint was destroyed, because that is exactly what it felt like. I was told that wasn't it. I demanded an x-ray anyway because I was so sure that I disagreed with the doctor about it. They did the x-ray. 100% fine.

The problem was actually that my right leg was about 1 cm longer than my left leg. My posture was chronically just a hair off. All of the supporting muscles around my hip were just a hair off as well. What felt like joint destruction was actually just chronically messed up muscles that surround the hip. I was shown stretches to do every day from a physical therapist, and it fixed the issue for me.

I'm out ...

I have had pelvic pain caused by too much cycling 2 years ago. I've been to many doctors and specialists the past 2 years and no help what so ever. I feel your pain.

Schedule an appointment to have your prostate checked and go several days without showering or wiping before you go in.
That'll show him.

Your doc probably knows a lot more than you and probably doesn’t think much of what you’re presenting, given that.

but you know, if you’re really a cancerous dead man walking, say something

It you had cancer in your balls you wouldn't feel it. That is why your doctor is not concerned

He's right about the stretching and you're right about the replacement if you don't stretch and activate and stenghten the supporting muscles around your hip. Flare ups will be keep recurring until you need replacement. By that time you'll be addicted to narcs

Buy a foam roller. Use it daily.

That doesn't sound like cancer at all and the doctor will have zero burden if something happens to you. If its been a month and the problem is still there its on you to get it checked out again, if you don't trust him go to another doctor.

Go to another doctor instead of trying to guess yourself. I'm pretty sure everyone at some point came in contact with a doctor that posted a false diagnosis or simply didn't care enough.

Holy goddamn fuck, I have almost the exact same symptoms than you, with all the paranoia about having a cancer too, minus going to doctor.

I'm pretty sure I have bursitis in my hip which, my mom says, will be gone if I just go to doctor and have cortisone injected to it.
It was absolute pain for a while to climb stairs. I had to do it with positions and movements even most retarded people have never even thought of. I ate some anti-inflammatory pills that my mom gave me and it eventually got much better, but the pain has come back a bit. Still not going to doctor. I want to live my life with only guessing I have cancer rather than having the doctor tell me I have cancer for sure :messenger_anxious:

Second opinion, is what you need, but I don't think he wants you dead.

The Ball thing could be a twisted nut, I understand that scenario from years ago, but the hip thing could be cartilage damage? I would ask the doctor to examine that.

yup. I’m actually on a foam roller right now as my morning routine. I have some low back issues that causes spasms from the low back to hip and around to the front of my stomach from pinched nerves. He should also ice before bed as well to reduce inflammation in the area.

Sounds like aids and that your aids has cancer.

But anyways, get second opinion is good idea. Also go to balls specialist, you have to wonder who likes balls so much that they become a balls specialist, that person you can trust cause they love balls above anything and probably know everything related to balls.

There's an ancient medical technique where people stick a candle in their ear and light the wick, pulling the toxin out of your head into the candle. Then you can set the candle on a candlestick to completely burn away the toxins.

I don't know know if you're circumcised or not, but I think you know what you need to do. Go get you a candle.

I'm seconding this. I have sciatica on my right side. It's from a minor tear of the sciatic nerve I suffered around 8 years ago. It has gotten a bit better, but the pain for about 2 years before to around 4 years after the tear reached levels of unbearable pain. I was on oxycodone off and on for about 5 years because of it. Tolerance is a bitch, so I stopped taking them, because more is not better.

Go to another doctor OP. The doctor you have is just wanting his money and doesn't give a shit.

Report me if I continue to console war
The sad truth is we are all largely responsible for our own health.
My hip started to hurt, so I started doing yoga, foam rolling, exercising it and stretching it and that cured it better then any advice from any doctor.
No doubt doctors know a lot, but no one is going to be more invested in there own health then yourself.

Also the truth is we are going to die, your health is not going to stay the same as u were in your twenties.
Just do your best and enjoy the ride.
Hopefully there is a decent afterlife or general artificial intelligence is invented before we die and does not kill humanity.

Was it a primary care/family doctor?

Word of advice, as someone who sees a lot of doctors because of medical issues. I had 10 doctors appointments in the month of September alone and over 35 in 2019 so far.... NEVER and I mean NEVER see a primary care doctor if it's something that's really bothering you. Always see a specialist. Now, because of insurance issues, you may have to see your PCP first to get a referral or whatever, or get them to recommend a doctor, so you may have to, but never rely on their diagnoses. I've been misdiagnosed by them so many times. One time I had horrible itchy eyes and they were itching so bad and he's like "yep, it's allergies" just recommended some basic drops. I told him I didn't think it was I never had seasonal allergies bad, only pet allergies and allergies to medicines. He said I developed them then, it happens. I said I know what allergies feel like, this isn't it. He insisted. The drops didn't work. So I went back, he recommended some stronger allergy drops. Still didn't work. I said fuck this, went to an ophthalmologist and I was diagnosed with severe eczema of the eyes and needed steroid treatments. I could have had serious eye damage if I just would've trusted my doctor. He also misdiagnosed some other stuff too. Not just him but different doctors in the practice.

I assume you meant your PCP btw since you said you went for a physical. But anyway, yeah, see a specialist. I know they're more expensive, but the last thing you wanna do is wait, have it be something serious and wish you got it taken care of sooner before it got worse.

I've thought about this, but I've been already blowing $300 a month working with a Dermo to make me a beautiful man. I think in the new year I'll see a specialist.

Hasnt got that bad yet thankfully! Maybe a 3 out of 10. I have to manually pick my leg up tho. Like to cross my legs and such. Not that I cant do it but it removes that "3" of pain so I just do.

Join tinder op and exclusively go after 18-20 years olds.

I'm gonna inform my GF of this decision. Should solve ALLLLL my problems!

Hey everyone's gotta look good, but I'd get it checked out sooner. You know your body better than anyone though. If it was cancer your symptoms would likely be progressing because cancer obviously spreads and gets worse. What I would do is if it gets worse, find a specialist you can see and get it checked out. It's probably nothing serious, but if it is, your looks won't matter if you're dead lol or even if it's something like a slipped disc in your back, you don't want it getting worse, it could be a nerve issue who knows.

A doctor will probably order a CT scan or MRI no matter what though or they aren't doing their job. So yeah, depending on your insurance it'll probably be an expensive diagnosis after specialist co-pays and MRI/CT scan bill after insurance.

Images are not very good at detecting cancer.

I think blood indicators are way more accurate. Then doing scopes with actual cameras.

First off. Your hip issue could probably be fixed by an adjustment from a chiropractor.

Second, cholesterol levels are BS unless you have other issues.

Third, doctor should have at least ordered an ultrasound for your junk.

talking about points 2 and 3.

OP never mentioned his cholesterol scores. Cholesterol on its own isn’t bad, he should be more worried about inflammation and triglycerides.

Never a bad thing to be safe with an ultrasound. I’ve had a few with similar symptoms.

Refute them then. I’ll wait.
1. The Hip joint is inherently flawed and prone to wear and tear, no chiropractor magic will reverse that. However at 40 the OP is 95% likely to be suffering from muscular pain, that requires physio and not a skeletal issue.

2. While triglycerides are the factor associated with heart disease, high cholesterol goes hand in hand with high triglycerides as it's a function of the western diet. To say high cholesterol doesn't matter, is bad health advice, as its associated with numerous over conditions such as diabetes and numerous cancers.

3. A good doctor doesn't fall into the fallacy of more tests being a way diagnose. It's a failure of the American health system and its insurance payment system that incentivises unnecessary testing. Patients are far too insistent, due to their own ignorance about things such as ultrasounds. His doctor is better placed to know when and when not to escalate testing for a diagnosis.

1. People can absolutely go out of alignment in the hip joints. But yeah, it’s possibly more due to muscle weakness or lack of muscle. An MRI would do a better job of diagnosing that. But you’re against that. Over time the condition would come back.

2. 80% of heart attacks are those whose numbers are in “normal range”. Your point about number 3 could just as easily be applied to #2 for doctors over diagnosing medications people don’t need.

High triglycerides absolutely do not necessarily go hand in hand with high cholesterol. Ask any hyper responder on a keto diet.

Hell, my triglycerides were 115 my last test (high is > 150) and my total cholesterol and LDL were borderline high. LDL is calced anyway so a lower triglyceride number would mean a higher LDL.

3. There’s nothing to refute about this. If the OP wants one for peace of mind and has the means to pay for it, more power to him.
