They are thinking of producing the Firepower! and if it sees the light of day, it will be positioned directly against the standard Corvette (think $50K)...

It is built on a viper chassis, has the viper suspension but has the 6.1L, 425BHP/420-lb-ft Hemi V8 from the 300C SRT-8.

IMO, the Firepower! has a very Aston Martin Vanquish/DB9 vibe to it.......good cars to emulate as they are some of the most beautiful automotive products in the world!!

that thing just screams penis envy to me.

Heh. Me too. Cars are the single biggest waste of money a person will have in their lifetime. Only the rare ones appreciate, all others are a money-losing venture. While my friends fret about every little dink to the car in the parking lot and scream at you if you spill on crumb on their perfect leather, my 8-year-old Subaru Outback and I just don't give a shit if you dent it, spill on it, or ignore it altogether. It helps that I've paid it off and I don't have a car payment every month, plus the insurance is lower on it.

The Firepower is certainly good looking, but cars are too much of a money-sink in my mind.

I would go with diamonds but, that's just me. Not everything you should do needs to be an investment you can blow money for your own fun. Who cares if the car appreciates if you do stuff solely for the appreciation or it's ablity to make money alone you are probably a lame.

That being said it doesn't have a manual version they can keep it.

Men don't get nice cars because they like nice cars, men get nice cars because they know that women like nice cars. [/Dave Chapelle]

It's got that Aston Martin muscle to it, but I first thought of a Viper + Crossfire + Porsche 944 in the back.
And other fastbacks...
