I saw it today and it was really good. The music was nice, the characters were very real, and the dialogue was excellent. Really captured the finite quality of life and making the most of things. Glad that it showed just how useless a lot of the culture around us is and focused on the more important things, like personal relationships and the true character of people.

Got me thinking on something too: if you knew you were going to die, would you tell anyone? Or would you keep it a secret and try to go on living like it was any other day?

I'd tell my family for sure, and maybe my closest friends. Maybe probably. I might also tell a couple of girls that I was trying to date to get "pity laid".

I wouldn't tell the great majority of people I know, though, cause I wouldn't want them to feel sorry for and act different around me.

This movie is excellent. Honestly, top shelf, and if you enjoy it here are some others you might like...

"The Mood for Love" Wong Kar Wai (others refer to it as "IN the Mood for Love" but that is incorrect, the title does not say IN, and that totally changes the feeling of the movie.)
"Dancer in the Dark" (Bjork can act, trust me, very tough movie to watch though)
"La Strada" (Tribute to Chaplin, very melodramatic)
"All About My Mother" (Wow, this film is very tragic too)

Those are some if you haven't seen them, you'd probably like them.

It's been awhile since I saw it but I remember not liking it. It was overly sweet, with no chemistry between the leads. It's hard to feel empathy when the movie is so designed.

Disappointing since I generally like S. Polley and M. Ruffalo's movies.

Shit I would tell everyone if I were dying.

"You fucking asshole I hate you!"
--"I'm dying"
"Shit... I'm so sorry!"

Lisa Edelstein's dad touched my private parts. True fact.
There were a couple poignant moments at best. Particularly the supermarket dance scene and recording scenes. But I was expecting much more given the Almodovar production (and I'm also a big fan of Ruffalo's).

The trailer for this film was amazing, btw...maybe that is why I was so dissapointed.
