MyFi -- will it take off?

MyFi, the portable XM radio reciever, is soon to come out...

Along with ticker capabilities and storage of XM transmissions, could this be the next big thing in portable audio?
 
At that price im guessing yes.

Word is out that the MyFi has pretty crummy reception. Future incarnations could be pretty cool, if it weren't for the fact that Sirius is finally catching up by snatching up tons of exclusive property (sports, Stern). Also, there are rumors that Apple's going to intorduct a Sirius iPod. That would probably be the end of the MyFi line right there.
 
Related question: Why is it that certain satellite services (like television and Internet) require dishes to be pointed very precisely, while others like these radio devices can just be carried about willy-nilly and work (to some degree)?

Sat radio services use ground repeaters as well as the Sats.
 
I got one early this month and love it. I live in Chicago and because of repeaters, i get a great signal pretty much everywhere.
