How do you unlock the brawler?

I could use a broken class, I can't even get the samurai quest done as a knight. Got close to finding the last "boss" once but ran out of... well, everything.

I unlocked the brawler through the genesis stone but I think that was after I beat the game with the beast man.

The $13.50 launch deal is a great price, and I'm a huge fan of MD games, but I haven't played near enough Shiren 5 to dip into this right now, especially when Darkest Dungeon and X-Com 2 are in little over a week.

Just got this as it always intriguied me how the indie release could amass such a huge amount of reviews on Steam. I'm expecting to get my money's worth. Game looks fun!
