He was once just a little green glob of clay. But soon Gumby will be green globs of pixels, thanks to a deal between Namco Hometek and the Premo Toy Co. "Gumby and his friends have delighted generations of kids and adults on the small screen and through traditional toys," said Jeff Lujan, business director of Namco Hometek Inc. "We are very pleased that the creators of this wonderful property have entrusted Namco with this opportunity."
Gumby, created by Art Clokey, celebrates his 50th anniversary this year after appearing in his own television show and becoming a best-selling poseable figurine. "Our family is very excited to see Gumby make his debut in the interactive world," said Clokey.
The deal struck by Namco and Prema also grants Namco the right to use Gumby as a guest star in any of its other games.
