I'm talking to you Microsoft... why doesn't xCloud support multiple controllers for local multiplayer, GeForce Now does.

Just to add some context. Generally cloud gaming works great where I live. I recently bought a Fire TV Stick for my aging non-smart TV and installed the Xbox App which works just fine except we can't use more than one controller for games like It Takes Two!

Controllers need a scroll wheel between Start and Select. Imagine the use cases.

Better Xcloud supports local coop, I haven't tried it though.

The touch pad on the Dualsense isn't supported enough.
- using sections of the pad as buttons, could be simply left and right or even split into four
- swiping in different directions (GoT does this well)
- as a cursor
- for scrolling

A screen on controllers that provides infos like bagspace, minimap or ammo just like some Logitech keyboards back then. That would allow games without or with minimal HUDs.

Unfortunately It Takes Two doesn't work and how would you install into Xbox App on the Firestick?

You can sideload apps on firesticks, at least last I checked but since your game wouldn't work guess there isn't much reason to.

I think the scroll wheel should go up near the bumpers, Just move finger over and scroll.

Also-RPG's with pages of script, can just scroll wheel the text as you read instead of overshooting the text with the sticks.

Im trying to side load Geforce Now onto the firestick using Aptoide but I cannot install any app from Aptoide app because the damn remote is stuck on the navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen. I cannot position the highlighted button up to the install button. It's fucking frustrating.

Use the downloader browser app on your fire stick to download the apk file. Or install it on your phone and use apps2fire to transfer it to your fire stick.

I'll give this a try. I actually have Downloader installed on the Firestick but I installed it to download and install Aptoide since I thought I needed Aptoide to download the GFN app.

Is it for universal? Or just xbox?

For universal, maybe Haptic keyboard and mouse? I think it might be cool.

If its xbox only, then gyro might be useful
But again, xbox controller might be as fine as it is. If they add more feats, it will trigger more price...

Global settings for common preferences such as inverted look axis, camera view in racing games, etc.

You know, like they used to have on Xbox 360 but inexplicably abandoned.

I keep forgetting that was a thing on the 360 that was removed in the Xbone, I'm one of the dying gamers who has to invert the Y. It was a user account thing as well, So when another person logged onto the 360 it would have their settings.

Honestly I'd like 2. One would be for system volume on PC like mechanical keyboards are doing now.
For system volume, hold down whatever the home button on you controler is and press the stick up or down. Works as long as you have Steam open.

The Xbox 360 was such a legendary console.

Arbitrary Resolutions - I had a 1440x900 monitor......the Xbox aint care select it, console would letterbox the games onto it.
MediaCenter Extender - Way way before it was normal to stream to your TV.
Achievements - I bet people dont even remember a time before achievements.

I used to stream music from my Mac upstairs to the built-in music visualiser (another feature that's no longer supported but should be).

Also, the headset included with every console (another one).

There should be a much bigger choice when it comes to official controllers - hall sticks or standard, different sizes of entire controllers and analogue sticks & buttons, choice between built-in battery and AA batteries, how the dpad is built and so on.

Backwards compatibility should also cover more games, just make sure they're not crashing and a lot of people will be happy even if there aren't any performance upgrades.

I already hate scroll wheels on mice... fuck no!

also, technically the PS4/5 already have this with their touch pads, which can be used exactly like a scroll wheel if a dev wanted to.

@topic:
Automatically muting in-game music when using a media app (Spotify, MP3 player etc.)

a feature that 99% of all Xbox 360 games supported and which was amazing to have, suddenly just doesn't exist anymore in any meaningful way.
the new Xbox consoles don't support it at all on an API level as far as I can tell,
and the PS4 and PS5 do actually support it, but the amount of games that make use of it can be counted in 1 hand (not kidding... I know 3 games that do it and 1 game that did but doesn't anymore after patches)

240hz refresh rate support for consoles

System-level selection for video output scaling methods. If I want to use nearest neighbor to scale a 1080p-output game to 4K, I should have that option rather than defaulting to the console's standard (usually lanczos or bilinear) method.

Custom soundtracks like the OG Xbox.

A controller with two back buttons embedded on the inner side of the grip and positioned where your third fingers would naturally rest. Similar to this, but more compact and without the large protruding bulge.

I always said I'd love to turn my controller on its side and then control it like a mouse, so…

I don't care what they add not using it till they get an acceptable bitrate! The quality is horrible compared to boisterous and GeForce now he'll even Sonys. Give us at least clean 1440p at a locked 60/120 and I'll bite
