Name a sport you're garbage at

Soccer i guess?

I knew i was pretty bad so i only played in defence and use my size for very physical tackles.

My only positive side was that i was always in defence while the other defenders went into attack mode because they really didn't wanted to play in a defence role, so i was useful during counter-attacks, i was the murasakibara of soccer but without the talent :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

I only played football(soccer for american bitches) and ping pong and I was just mid at both. I tried tennis but didnt like it that much so I guess that? It's been many years since I've done any of these though. Kinda miss it. Maybe I should check out a squash place but they're kinda expensive.

The only sport I ever felt like I was above average at was Table Tennis.
In that I could at least keep up and sometimes beat the more athletic kids at school.

I sucked in everything else and never really got into sports after Highschool. My exercise is basically just working out at the gym.

I was always super shit in volleyball and I remember I hated how back in school we couldn't pick which sports we'd like to play.

Oh boy i forgot how fucking shit i was at ping pong, way worse than soccer...

At this point in my life? All of them.

When I was in good health/condition? None of the major ones. Unless you want to count stuff like golf or bowling but none of the more physically demanding ones that people think of when you say "sport".

All of them.

All of them basically. But one that I really suck at is basketball.

All of them. I'm only good at lifting weights, so I have a physique of a fake athlete, I don't even have stamina to run for a long period

All of em , I like to think I'm pretty good at fishing though

I know I feel comfortable on this forum for a reason. I'm with my people. :messenger_tears_of_joy: but yeah, same here. all of them.

then just imagine you're playing tennis, but on a table. :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Completely different for me, ping pong has way less margin of error and you need to have your technique on point to even keep the ball in the court in a shitty exchange, tennis is far more forgiving.

Smaller camp, smaller racket, smaller ball, less time to see the ball coming at you, even the grip and how you hit the ball always felt not as natural as it feel in tennis.

I guess this vary from person to person.

I always sucked at basketball. I lack the coordination needed. That's why I did wrestling in the winter.

Yeah because people can only have one hobby...
Some people think everyone posting on a video game board is a forever alone weeb that had no friends / social life, and didn't participate in sports.

This has always been a thing that annoyed me to no end.

But i'm an old school dude, i really dislike people thinking always the worst about gamers when in reality, all kind of people play vg.

I know it's cool to shat on our hobby tho.

I think a lot of times it's projection.

No i think the topic was about the past, at almost 40 years old i'm sure that i'm not good at stuff that i was good in my 20s.

i was pretty good at bowling, our class in high school used to play bowling almost every day instead of going to school for the first 2-3 months of the year :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Bowling and billiard (pool for americans?)

Hockey. I never bothered learning how to skate and the one or two times I tried were a disaster. I'm surprisingly decent at all others (or was), despite being cursed with a lack of athleticism.

Probably most of them. I used to play for a lot of school teams back in primary school, football, cricket, rounders, cross country, that sort of thing. Our cricket team made it to the finals of a national competition and my place was given to another kid because he never got to do anything and they felt sorry for him. I never played another minute of any sport for them after that, then I went to secondary school and discovered drink, weed, and girls. That was much more fun.

I could point out how comically bad I was at baseball. (Sorry Heisenberg) In school on only one occasion did I finally manage to hit the ball. The bizarre part of it? While running toward first base the ball came down and hit me in the back which is an out. (If it wasn't for that I would have actually got on base for once.) I'm literally the only person that I've ever heard of this happening to.

I have never heard of that even happening in all honesty :)

I know I am biased but the two hardest things to do in all of sports is hitting a golf ball straight with proper distance and hitting a round baseball with a round bat while someone is throwing it 100 mph and doing it 3 times out of 10 every time.

Looking back on it the amazing part is the gym teacher actually knew the rule that applied off the top of his head. (He was a nice guy FWIW. He was the type of gym teacher people actually liked.)

I'm trash at all of them, every sport. But it doesn't bother me. I don't even get mad when people assume I should be some kind of athletic prodigy just because I'm Black. I mean, that'd be like an Asian person getting upset that folks think they're math geniuses. Could be worse, people have assumed I'm great at robbing houses or lowering property values. So if you wanna think I'm secretly Jordan with bad knees… I'll take it.

I could always hold my own in most team sports. But anything to do with long distance running I'd be at the back of the pack. Like way back among the last 5 people in a gym class. On the plus side, I know for sure I was never dead last. lol. Always been a shitty marathon/distance runner. Oddly, in my younger days I was actually decently fast. But I got zero stamina and my shins would always hurt in the first couple laps around a track. lol. I must have shitty legs or too fat. But they never hurt if I play team sports or walk. Just in distance running.

Best sports probably fighting in school, hockey, shooting long bombs in basketball, squash. And decent at bowling even though I only play once every bunch of years. I'll occasionally play with friends and fam and get 130-160. Not great, but decent enough. My high is 190. The key to getting a decent bowling score isnt even shooting straight or hoping to get some strikes. Ya, those are important of course, but nailing spares is what will keep your score up. And making sure your first shot in a frame is always good. Pro bowlers will gun for tons of strikes while the avg Joe Nobody isnt going to be getting 8+ strikes in a game like a pro. We might get lucky and get a handful, but getting lots of spares to boost the score is key. Once you get a bunch of open frames or some shitty frames you only get 2 or 3 pins on the first shot screwing up how the scoring multiplies with strikes/spares, youre bowling score will never be great.
