Nanostray makes Top 15 on amazon.com

I just got it today, and it's a pretty solid shooter except for the fucking retarded touch screen weapon changing. Glad to see it get some sales, hopefully we'll see an improved sequel or something.

Yeah, but WTF? Nancy Drew: Secret of the Old Clock is #1?! I don't trust this.

Amazon is a big seller of items like that, especially educational software. They are one of the few sites I had found that had software for my cousin who is homeschooled.

How wierd... I just used that book in a photoshop.

is it actually good? I might go look for it tomorrow based on hype alone. that's worked out poorly for me in the past though.....

Yes, Nanostray gets good after you get used to the invisible sides and weapon switching. I'm really enjoying the level of challenge, and it looks and sounds pretty damn good as well.

Adventure mode on Normal is easy due to infinite continues, replenished bombs after each death, strong energy meter. Advanced and Expert have limited continues, weaker shields, less bombs. I'm personally having trouble getting through Advanced.

The 22 Challenges are difficult. They give you objectives or restrictions like 1 Life to get through a stage, earn x number of points which is usually a really high amount, no smart bombs, clear x number of waves, no autofire, no sub-weapon, etc. Each Challenge unlocks a gallery image (parts of a stage, enemies).

The big draw is Arcade mode, where you play individual stages for high scores... if you can finish them because they're set at Advanced difficulty. High scores give you a NanoCode to enter at the game's site for world rankings. You get two rankings: individual stage rankings and a total ranking based on the combined scores of all completes stages you've submitted under your account.

Nanostray was about 10-15 for the last few days at amazon.com, so it seems as it's selling really good at least there.

I think I read an interview or something like that a few days ago with the developers, in which they said that there next game is definitely on DS, so here's hoping :D

These sorts of interviews should ask obvious questions...such as, "Did you play your own game before releasing it? If so, why were you not concerned that the control functions seemed to be handled by retarded monkeys?"

re-read what you just typed. then put your money back into your wallet.

My DS has had Meteos lodged into it since late June... And this game looks like it wont change that. I'm all for supporting games and companies, but at least have the game be worth supporting. It might be fine and all... but I own Gradius V, R-Types, R-Type Delta, R-Type Final and Einhander... Will Nanostray stand out? Not really.

More importantly, other than the fact that this game had some hype about it over this past week, and that it is the only one of it's type right now on the DS... what has it really got going for it? I did not buy Iridion (SP?) Nor the 2nd one.

Why should I buy this?

No offense to the developers or anyone who likes this though. If they improved it in a sequel, made it longer and fixed the control styles... Since it seems to have the presentation down pat...

Better luck next time guys.

that would be crazy if nanostray somehow because the highest selling DS game, all because a million DSers had to get it because it was "rare"
