This lady just said we'll get 4fps video of the landing (from a camera looking down on the bottom), if I heard her right. We won't get it right away though.

Watching on XBL. All it says right now is Welcome to the mars science laboratory. Is anyone else seeing this?

Edit: now they're showing jpl mission control.

The Eyes sim is the coolest thing ever.

Like all major space exploration events, and the martian landings in particular, I'm going to be really disappointed if it doesn't work. Fingers crossed! ;)

GO SCIENCE.

So...Comcast needs account verification just to check the channel lineup for me. Why? Their shitty search function on the cable box and website won't tell me the damn channel number. Why do I pay these assholes money. Oh..that's right. They're the only cable provider in my area. BURN IN A GODDAMN FIRE, COMCAST! PEACE.

I guess XBL is streaming the NASA channel? Makes sense.

So, so excited about this, but equally nervous. I have every confidence in the folks responsible, however - the mind boggles at just how complex and technical this operation is.

Completely in awe of the potential achievement here - I can't get a pesky Java plug-in to operate happily on my work PC, and here is a team of folks sending a highly-advanced bit of tech kit on a 567,000km journey and (no doubt!) landing and deploying it safely and successfully.

Science is indeed awesome. Glad to have found (and read) this thread to share the occasion with you, guys.

Tuning in as well, Eyes on the Solar System feed up and running at work :)

Excited and just as equally nervous (like most of you in here by the sounds of it). Hoping it goes to plan. Can't wait!

Watching coverage on the Xbox, pretty stoked about this. I'm somewhat embarrassed to say that Mass Effect has only intensified my interest in space ;)

Today I have seen:
Andy Murray utterly destroy Roger Federer in 3 sets at Wimbledon
Usain Bolt win the gold in the 100m like a BOSS
Siglemic reclaim the 120 star record in Mario 64

And now I'll see Curiosity land on Mars. Pretty amazing day.
