Curiosity is scheduled to land in Gale Crater at about 1:30AM EDT on August 6, 2012. Leading up to the landing, NASA TV will provide live coverage beginning at 11:30PM.
NASA TV needs to update their freaking tv listings. Recordings set to start in ~6 hours or so though so I should catch most of it.
I wish all you guys the best of luck. Super freaking excited for the landing and footage! I have my fingers crossed.I work at JPL in Pasadena and will be supporting the landing phase (EDL) tonight. Wish us luck!

So excited/nervous!
This HAS to work! Go Curiosity, go!
I'm excited! Something actually happening for once in the news that doesnt involve some celebrity.
But I'm confused, I thought NASA's funding was dropped considerably how is this funded?

It's very cool, you'll be able to "watch" the landing live as if you were there.
the speed seems to change a bit much, how did they get an exact time for touch down if the speed changes?
I don't know but I hope they did their conversions between mph and kph right this time.the speed seems to change a bit much, how did they get an exact time for touch down if the speed changes?
