But how it really towers over what's on the road now is in height. At 108 inches, or 9 feet, the CXT stands only a foot below a basketball rim and more than two feet above the Hummer or the F-350.

"It's not going to fit into the standard garage," said Mark Oberle, a spokesman for Navistar, based in Warrenville, Ill., outside Chicago. "We can see it a as a vehicle for business people who want to make distinct impression. For personal use, it's for people who want to make a statement."

One of the statements: the buyer has a great deal of money to spend. The price for the CXT ranges from about $93,000 to $115,000 fully loaded, with such creature comforts as a DVD player and leather upholstery.

Buyers will also have to have a fair amount of money to fill it up -- it's projected to get between 6 and 10 miles per gallon of diesel fuel.

For people who want to make a statement while driving in luxury, try a customized black International CXT featuring leather interior with wood grain trim, reclining captain chairs, a fold-down bench that can be used as a bed, an overhead compartment with drop-down DVD, an XM satellite premium radio system and a rear-mounted camera for increased visibility behind the vehicle. The drivetrain features a smooth-shifting Allison 2500 Series 5-speed automatic transmission and the ride is softened by a cab air suspension system.

The day I see a soccer mom shear the roof off of one of these things on her day trip to the mall will be the best day of my life.

I thought no good could come of this vehicle... I was wrong.

Excess, thou hast found a new name.

The sad thing is, diesel is cheaper than regular gas for the most part - so driving this thing will be equivalent pricewise to driving a Hummer.

Of course. You know those practical situations like moving your house and moving a bridge.

Yeah, why invade Iraq for oil when we can just tow it over here and drop it in Texas.

Every time I'm in the middle of the city and I see a Hummer or Excursion driving by with but a single jackass using it for transportation (most likely for a <1mile drive), a little part of me dies inside. Probably the part that's being killed by however much pollution they produce. Does it ever end?

What in the hell is wrong with people... that thing is hideous! Fire whomever came up with this stupid ass idea - NOW!

Yeah, like, "I love foreign oil!" or "My penis is HUGE! Really!"

What about "I'm too fat to fit in any other vehicle due to my reliance on motor vehicles to get anywhere, no matter how short the distance!"?

Pfft, it's got nothing on my ride. Plus, my 82-inch fake-ass plastic spinner hubcaps should be coming in tomorrow.

Man my daily commute vehicle owns j00! 3300 Horsepower! Two Greyhound buses and two pick-up trucks would fit inside its dumper.

These will be the official trucks of the Florida Hurricane season. Get yours soon! Quantities are very limited.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Big Diesel (Shaq) in one of these. Someone call his mechanic.

:lol :lol

This shit is unreal. It's approaching the level of that kia sorento commercial where everyone is driving a steamroller.

Jesus, this has to be the sign that SUVs have reached the end of their popularity.

You abouts to give me some pimp ideas, homes

Now that I think about it, and after seeing the pics of construction vehicles posted, the recent SUV commercial with the family riding around in their normal SUV while surrounded by people driving steamrollers seems all the more relevant.
