2k2 and earlier versions didn't play like that.

The series just went down the shitter like the rest of Sega post-DC. :(

Hmmm, I'm starting to understand why you love NBA2K2 so much

I KNEW IT!

Wow,Tet you're one real thick headed guy.It was pretty obvious I was talking about NBA,not that the College game sucks any less ass :lol

Perhaps it's the people you play with, play in a GA league and you will hate the game within a week.

See, that's exactly why I posted. You don't see a difference between College bball and nba 2k5, and there is a huge difference.

Fair enough though, I just don't like being written off as a take-two fanboy when I dispise the NFL 2k series. You keep posting this hate for the 2k series, when the Live series hasn't been decent since 1998.

Have you played March Madness 2005?

edit--I say the college game plays like basketball and you quote me and wonder what type of basketball has centers bringing up the ball? Seems like you're the thick headed one who changed the subject of my post, prompting a response. What's the matter, dominating football isn't enough for you? Sorry bud, but EA basketball games have been shit for nearly a decade. I hold out little hope that Live 2006 will change this, but my mind is open. Like I said, the NBA 2k series peaked three years ago. It's still the premier "basketball" game however. I don't see how FMT is bemoaning the lack of a post game when NBA 2k invented post play, but whatever.

No there isn't,the games are practically identical in the way they play, and that includes the stupid ass AI,the whack shooting percentages, circus shots under the goal, big men not playing like big men,etc.,etc.,etc.

Feeling guilty?I never called you a Take Two fanboy :lol

Live has it's problems, but over the past few years it has been head and shoulders above the 2K titles,as I said, the only thing holding it back for me is the crap online play.Me and DM played one game and it was more sim like than the 20 or so games we played off 2K together, heh.

Live actually gives you control of your ball movement,2K is still stuck with this stupid shit where you press a direction and you do some insane move that you would never see in a real NBA game.Live has the downlow stuff down to the tee with the ability to try for a dunk or a layup, meanwhile in 2K you might dunk or you might spin around and do a 360 hookshot, who knows?!

Have you played March Madness 2005?

No I haven't,which is why I've been talking about only the games I have played, and since this is a NBA Live thread,I was trying to mainly talk about the NBA games, but you keep wanting to throw in College 2K like it's some kind of pinnacle for basketball games, when it is merely a baby step better than the absolute garbage NBA2K game.

NBA and College 2K have MASSIVE problems that absolutely break the games when you play against real people.Maybe it's ok offline,I don't know,I don't waste my time playing the computer, all I know is that the GA leagues offer the most realistic competition I've ever found on the net,and the games we play always come down to someone getting screwed by stupid A.I. or some other insane thing that seems to only happen in 2K games.Trust me,I don't waste 20 bucks on these 2K games just so I can bash them,I buy them in hopes that they will be good, but they never are, some are quite close to being good, but they always have some absolutely absurd game breaking problem that just makes you scratch your head and wonder if VC even tests these games before shipping them out -_-

:lol Im reading an old NBA 2K4 review from Gamespot

While there are a small handful of faults with the game, ESPN NBA Basketball has just about everything a hardcore NBA fan could ask for. It includes a tough, but rewarding, simulation-style of gameplay, a feature-packed franchise mode, street-style game modes, and the truly unique 24/7 gameplay mode that might be good enough to be its own game. If you're a hardcore NBA fan with an Xbox or PlayStation 2, your game library just isn't complete without a copy of ESPN NBA Basketball.

Sports game reviews are great :)

*sigh*

The 24/7 shit is stupid as hell too, that's one of VC's biggest problems,I think they put more work into that bullshit than they do the actual game.Cribs,Celeb Teams, and 24/7 can blow me,give me good gameplay before you start on that BS.

I don't think Live is better at all. Live is pretty much just as broken as 2K, at least offline. I don't play online much though so maybe there's a big difference there, you guys would know better than I on that front.

I still can't take any game seriously when Damon Stoudamire and Sam Cassel are blocking Shaq like what happens in Live - double digit blocks per team per game too. Not that 2K5 was much better with Shaq taking shots from outside the key :lol

My personal opinion is that no basketball game is going to feel anything like the real thing's pace until they SEVERELY LIMIT the turbo button - and even then most players would just have a negligible speed bonus. Both Live and 2K have silly situations where you can run up and down the court like a madman. Don't even get me started on pro-hop.

I really don't think they were able to afford much testing at all. I'm just hoping Take 2 is giving them bigger budgets now for that.

Totally true. I don't know why they waste time on that stuff. I enjoy what they come up with at times for a laugh, but I'd enjoy it a lot more if they just focused on the actual game.

No I'm not feeling guilty, I just didn't want anyone to get the wrong opinion.

I play plenty of people online and off in College Basketball 2k5, guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I never said it was perfect, but it is the best representation of videogame basketball to date. Are there ways to exploit the gameplay? Absolutely, but there always will be.

With basketball being my favorite sport, it's sad that it's so far behind videogame football in most respects. We both seem to agree that basketball has a long way to go in videogame format.

btw, don't bother with March Madness, that game is a freaking joke, I thought Live was bad...

Damn they have small arms... like Tyranosaurus Rex arms...

EA Sports has the worst models for NBA and NFL... Tiger Woods models were prettydecent...

2K Sports has really got to start showing some of the goods...
