Get out! In all seriousness I hope it's a good season
OKC is a great pick because Westbrook is an athletic freak, Paul George is really smooth, and Melo plays Old Man Ball. Each player has the ability to take over and you'll have a chance to watch them all mesh together.
I don't speak on the Lakers 'cause they died to me once Kobe tapped out. 😤
Enjoy the season, homie.
choose wisely which team will be worthy fucking up your sleep cycle for
OKC Thunder is great. One of the best crowds and support for their players. Even last year when we lost one of the best on the league we aold out every game.
300 sellour arenas in a row.
We just got two great players and may have a hell of a season. Could make a run...but GSW is 2 gud
I do believe that Lavar is a good guy, but it also seems a bit obvious that he would make a show that makes himself look good
OKC for sure. Lakers will be interesting but frustrating this year. OKC is ready to contend and has a line up that's both experienced but are a fresh combination.
Cheers dudes.
I've always been a super casual but I listen to tons sports podcasts and watch a lot of highlights so I know a fair bit in terms of specific players, what franchises are going through, and all that - nothing too deep, but I've been that level of casual for years so I know some stuff, which is why I'm torn between OKC and Lakers.
On the one hand, Lakers seem like a good point to jump on the bandwagon cause it's a young team that's essentially a fresh start for the franchise, and growing up in Europe, they were still a big name, which also makes it boring cause I'm a casual Dodgers fan already.
OKC is the team I want to succeed the most cause Westbrook is a fucking DON. He always got something of a bad rep whenever I heard of him, but I just saw a dude that was just fiercely competitive in a game he loves he gives his all too, and I can't really fault that, plus I think a lot of it came down to people misunderstanding him - but, again, casual. Also, for the narrative, I'd like Westbrook to win a ring after Durant left. I hold nothing against Durant for leaving, but I do feel he took the easy way to that ring. Wins are wins and rings are rings, but I think if he had won it at OKC it would have meant a whole lot more to him than winning it with the Warriors. But fuck it, he's a grown man capable of making his own decisions.
Alternatively, I also thought of supporting the Cavs because I like the narrative of LeBron getting back on that mountain. I've also been a fan of JR Smith for a while, I just like his style of play. My brother is a fan though, so as a rule I tend to shit on his teams and pick whoever they playing against, but I don't like Golden State, and my Scottish mate would disown me if I supported the Celtics, so it comes down to OKC and LAL.
LAL would work cause I also like baseball and the Dodgers are the only team I support, but player for player, I just like OKC a bit better.
I'm gonna think on this a bit more.
