NBC's Community Official Thread - the next Arrested Development/Office/30 Rock?

Coming off my favorite episode of the series so far, we have.... my least favorite episode of the series so far. Weak all around. The funny wasn't there, the tone of the humor was off, and the drama felt completely by the numbers.

These AD comparisons need to stop. First, they are completely pointless. The shows have nothing in common aside from genre. Second, AD is in a class of its own.

I enjoyed this more than last week tbh

Yep, a class right below the one Community is in.

Oh god, not you too.

The term "the funny" has escaped the Chuck thread..

Yup. This is my favorite comedy currently on TV, but nothing will beat AD.

Honestly I prefer Curb and even Sunny despite it's rough patches. If it's any consolation it is the best comedy on NBC! It's a decent show, but I don't think it's that memorable or unique, reminds me of 30 Rock--good, solid, and entertaining, but far from classic. It's too scattershot and derivative.

Oh my God...I just watched last week's paintball episode. I haven't laughed that hard at a TV show in a very long time if ever. So many movie references and so many awesome moments.

Now to make a bunch of avatars of Annie doing.....errr..anything :lol.
Well, not really, I always try to include as many characters as I can.

I don't mind a more serious episode, but it would've been nice to have something of a transitionary episode between from MW and this.

Hopefully they'll be able to make the jump to the next season they're presenting without it just ending up crazy awkward.

I enjoyed this a lot more than Modern Warfare.

Great episode all around.

Jeff: ...And you didn't get hot until after high school!
Troy: ....THAT'S TRUE!

:lol

Though the whole Troy and plumbing part seemed kinda useless. Oh well.

I really enjoyed it. Outside of the "Annie is gonna get murdered" bit being pretty weak reason for the gang to leave the test, everything was solid. Pierce was well played - laid back the whole episode and then BAM, turns out he was banging the teacher. That reveal was great.

This ep seems to be about as divisive as Interpretive Dance. Both eps tried something different with their tone. One failed, one worked (imo).

joined the annie club.

while I absolutely love this show it doesn't quite reach the brilliance of AD, though I do identify with the setting/characters more.
