I can now officially say that this was the best first season of a sitcom ever.

Bravo, Community.

For fuck's sake Arrested Development is in the thread title. Jesus there's no in between with you guys.

It was a really cool season with a somewhat hokey finale.

edit: And they need to have some sort of retcon on Annie being 19. She looks closer to 30 than 20 (which the actress is). I'm still shocked they thought she could pass for 18 at any point.

I didn't mind the fake out ending. I figure it's the easiest way to reset the cast and have everyone be single in season 2 anyway.

That said, it almost felt like a harem anime and rather than choose the two "dere" types, he chose the girl next door/childhood friend. :lol

Great last episode. Good to see all the characters. The dalmations cracked me up, especially when the second one showed up.

Dont you envy Jeff Winger and all the chicks he's pulling?

Can someone make a Vaugh icon, wearing a shirt? I'd like to use it so we can never forget him.

Given how much Community-GAF and Lost-GAF cross over, I'm surprised to see only one mention of Chang's Loophole.

Great episode. It was nice to see a lot of characters from earlier episodes make appearances. I'm surprised at how far this show's come. This is only the first season? It feels like it's been around forever.

Finale was mostly very good and very funny but the ending was shit and cemented the problem I have with Community and its total lack of any worthwhile seasonal story arc.

Jeff + girls is not interesting unless its a joke, nor does it have any substantial build-up. Its why the Annie kiss from the debate episode was ignored in nearly every following episode. Its why the hot professor was more of a item to use for jokes rather than an interseting story. Its why Britta and Jeff hooking up took place in the silliest, most outlandish episode and was ignored in the episode that followed.

Jeff's relationships, or any real relationships, are really not very interesting when they're taken seriously. Especially so when there's no build-up.

Sorry team-Annie. Trying to climax a story that barely existed to begin with just doesnt work.

Still, very funny, and I look forward to season 2.

I'm assuming it's building up to a very clever one off season premiere joke anyway. At the very least, they have a chance to subvert the whole sitcom hookup thing.

Awesome finale :lol

"My friendship with Abed is like a cookie!" :lol :lol

And damn, how the fuck do you just end like that. FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I think to appreciate the ending, you should really look at all the subtext throughout the season. Which might be difficult, because the show is written in a way that most of the emotions, jokes, and dialog are given to you up-front.

But it IS there.

For the record, Annie's great, but I'm on Team Britta. So the ending isn't my most favored one, but I can appreciate the complexity it adds to my emotional reaction.

Also, out of everything in this episode, I think I enjoyed the giant cookie subplot the most!

I really dug the finale, but I couldn't buy Annie leaving the show and I especially couldn't buy Jeff taking Slater seriously. Slater just hasn't been around much at all this season for me to really buy into it and believe he had a choice.

The cookie subplot was great tho. The final punchline being Pierce expecting Troy to be his servant.:lol :lol

Agreed with EatChildren on this one re: the relationship subplot. Not exactly a reason to be hanging for season 2. Otherwise, the rest of the episode was amazing!

PS. Hi Dan :D

That was a perfect Season Finale to Community, 10/10, that was airways ahead... so many things said and done, callbacks, and cliffhangers!

@DanHarmon @JoelMcHale @GillianJacobs @KenJeong @DannyPudi @AlisonBrie @MrDonaldGlover @YvetteNBrown Congrats, PERFECT FInale, airways ahead

Even though I'm Team Britta, this episode had all sorts of callbacks of characters and jokes, dealt with relationships...fucking everything!

I'm happy they chose a twist ending, brilliant brilliant shit, way way better than Paintball eps foh shure(sic)

Indeed, but not an entire review, thank god no Jack Black :P :P ::P

Vaughn, Professor Duncan, Professor Whitman, Professor Slate, Dalmation fetish, Britta loves Jeff, Annie/Jeff kiss pt 2, so much win

Video yearbook ending was alright

I'm getting the vibe that he might have enjoyed the finale. ^_^

Just got through Modern Family, Community and HIMYM season finales and wow, Community brought it.
Anyways, have we decided who medium and big boobs are?

This episode was fantastic and i'm really going to miss the show as a whole. There isn't much to look forward to, apart from the World Cup, this summer. I can't wait for the fall season tho

Gillian Jacobs has epic tits so she must be medium boobs

Holy crap, was that a LOST reference with Chang and Duncan?

Chang wearing white, Duncan in a dark suit. Chang threatens to attack Duncan, but can't because he's a student, so he says he'll "find a loophole"

There are no words. Episode was great. I love Community. It's the show that brought me back to watching TV period.

That said, I enjoyed the finale, though I'm kind of wary on how they decided to leave us hanging for next season. I just hope Community doesn't devolve into some sort of Friends type sitcom. I have faith, though. Can't wait for the (BRD?) release. It's gonna be a long wait until season 2. :(

Yes, and it was GREAT.

I really liked this episode. Not the best in the series, but definitely not the worst. Loved the guest stars coming back for the finale. I am also really glad it didn't end in the usual sitcom bullshit.

As for a season long arc, I don't really "require" one for Community. The whole school thing feels like an arc in and of itself. Plus it's funny enough to have each episode stand on it's own, unlike the Big Bang Theory.

Thought the episode was good until the end. Feels all
Michael hooking up Pam's Mom. Don't know whether to spoiler this or not :P
in terms of randomness.

Still, a really good first season, and a great surprise considering I almost wrote the show off after the first 2 episodes. The one where they convince Abed's dad to let him keep making videos really solidified this show for me and I watched it since :D.

I didn't mind Jeff-Annie (Jannie? Anneff?) because there was sufficient tension but it kind of took a back seat to the Jeff-Britta (Jitta? Breff?) subplot. In the ESL episode there was a scene where Jeff comments on how Annie dresses more "grown-up" and there's a bit of awkwardness there.

So in a way it was a curveball (when Britta announces her love way out of left field) but you also could've seen it coming.

I think the writers missed a chance with Britta vs. Slater: didn't seem to be much conflict between the two beforehand.

Team Britta here. How can you *not* go for a chick who doesn't wear underwear because she hasn't washed her clothes in three weeks? :lol
I felt the most sorry for her, she put it in the line and got rejected.

Parks and Community for whatever reason felt sad and diiferent, I have a bad feeling that we won't see these series after S2.

AND Outsource looks bad, I though a show like that will last though.

Check the extended trailer on NBC.com. Outsourced is far, far worse than a measly descriptor such as "bad."

I can't believe they're delaying ANY of their current comedy line-up for this.

Episode was ok. The GAF shoutouts were awesome, though. Troy was fucking awesome this episode.

First season was full of ups and downs. I'm excited for the second season, but "best sitcom ever"? Get fucking real.
