NBC's Community Official Thread - the next Arrested Development/Office/30 Rock?

Out of the blue, I decided to go through and watch every episode today, for the first time. Love this show! Freakishly hilarious and quick-witted. You can fight over the women all you want, but Abed is what makes this show for me. His references just rock.
 
I really hope they drop this whole Slater arc. She's not that interesting or funny as a character. She is easy on the eyes but doesn't serve much other purpose than to be a foil between Jeff and Britta...
and soon Katherine McPhee's upcoming character

SAME. Troy went missing and Annie was worried, and Pierce was wearing a dress. And apparently I was part of the cast, making snarky remarks. =/

This past Friday I was in new Orleans for Mardi Gras and me and some friends went to the MSTRKRFT show on Saturday night and guess who was there? (these arnt my photos, I have no idea who these other guys are)

I'm reading it more as a "Oh shit, I just blew my load. What do I do? WHAT DO I DO?"
 
I finally got around to watching the pilot over the weekend.. and.. does it get any better?

How good does the pilot represent the rest of the season?

I thought the pilot was great but it gets WAY better.

I'd say if you're not feeling it by the end of the 3rd ep the show just isn't for you.
 
I think if you watch the first 3/4 and aren't digging it, then watch the halloween ep. If you don't like that one, then you just aren't going to like it.

I started watching it this week as well and i had the same questions as you did. Yes it gets better, stick with it. It reminds me of AD, it has no laugh tracks, odd characters, everyone is unique and it's just really enjoyable to watch.

By episode 4 or so i was really digging it. Currently finished episode 11 and i'm looking forward to the rest.
 
The season premiere lays some of the basics but the show feels and looks different as the show progresses, hard to explain, but it's not a good way to judge the show.

It's great to see Jeong on Community. I feel privileged to have been able to see him do stand-up. To see him act out as Chang now is even more glorious

Pilot wasn't bad, but the series gets better with every episode IMO, I'd definitely stick with it because you'll greatly enjoy it as you get more into it, know the characters, get the humor a little better and the episodes overall just get better.

Strong hockey stick curve for this one.

Ken Jeong is quickly becoming one of my favorite comedians ever, and I'm incredibly jealous that you got to see him do stand-up. Now that I think about it, I've never even looked for his stand-up. TO THE GOOGLE!
 
He has added some weight. So interesting how he quit being a doctor to pursue comedy. It was hilarious when he used to joke about his wife, calling her, "Ho" (Her last name). One of the gigs he used to perform at also had Joy Koy on it. He and Koy would absolutely SLAY the crowd. Fucking awesome sets.
